Model Railway Footbridge Plastic Kit - OO Scale 1/76

I needed a bridge for one of the stations on my attic layout. Yes, this Dapol item is an old model, but it is reasonably priced and does the job... I was going to have to do a bit of kit bashing anyway, and the construction of this bridge lends itself well to that end, without the inevitable feeling of vandalism you get when attempting to carve out big chunks of an expensive, finely detailed brass kit... easy to assemble, all the parts fitted well enough (and it's a PS kit, so if there are any fitting problems a quick dip in hot water sorts them out anyway!). It is what it is... not a finescale masterpiece but a basic, inexpensive plastic footbridge that looks great on the layout after painting and a bit of fettling...

good kit just remember paint it before assembly.

Excellent kit even though 50yrs old, some parts needed to be soaked in warm water due to slight warp and bits of fashing to remove but still great build and value for money.

They were pleased with it.

Its cheap, and scrutiny shows it's age as the mouldings are poor compared to modern stuff but it goes together easily and looks fine when blended into the rest of the scenery.

measures about 28cm end to end so may overshoot an island station, 9cm high and across almost all of its length so easily clears locos when placed on a platform (could probably clear 2 tracks easily if placed directly on baseboard but can as in my case go across 3 tracks easily when on platform) 23cm gap between the edges and 12.5cm at full height (flat bit across middle)can have the lower part of the stairs positioned either way along the station or straight out to the sides on both ends.looks good when weathered, only one complaint really- the 'Dapol' poster in the middle is not included, the 'board' onto which it fits is structural so you will have an empty board on either end to fill, which does not seem to be a standard size (ie the packs of trackside signs don't seem to fit it) so you'll have to either print your own to the correct size or paint your own.
