Domestic harmony restored
I buy fairly expensive washing-up sponges (they'd be horribly expensive if I bought them from the supermarket, but I buy them in bulk on a certain auction site, which about halves the price) and, in our household, this has caused a problem. When 'other people' do the washing-up, they shorten the life of each washing-up sponge considerably every time a serrated knife is cleaned. In fact a study (carried out by me) has indisputably determined that the life of each sponge is shortened by half its normal span. At least. This has, in the past (well, actually up till now...) not added to sweetness and harmony on the domestic front.I'm not a profligate spender and I think that £5.20 is an awful lot to pay for a plastic brush. (Mind you, as ever Amazon is cheapest and you can pay a lot more for this particular item a) from Lakeland, and b) from a local giftshop here which stocks a lot of Joseph Joseph items and makes rather a feature of them.) However, looked at as a restorer of domestic peace, it's cheaper than counselling and there's no waiting period. When this brush arrived (next-day delivery with Prime), I got out every single serrated and/or sharp knife in the house and washed them all. I sprayed washing-up liquid and lemon juice into the 'teeth' of the brush and got to work. Brilliant. Every single knife, plus my beloved Titan Peeler, came up gleaming with not a mark or blemish to be seen and not even the tiniest fibre to be found adhering to the serrations.I just ran the business end of the knives backwards and forwards a few times through the 'teeth' and then ended by pushing the whole knife through and out the other side. A fleeting rinse under the tap, and the job was done (apart from the drying process, of course). The bristles of the Joseph Joseph brush aren't too dense, so a quick run under the tap cleaned the brush and then I stood it on its open end to drain, which it did easily. This is important because brushes can get very gungy very quickly if water is allowed to stay at the base of their bristles.Obviously I don't know how long this brush will last - but it had better last at least a year at this price. However even if it lasts no longer it will have paid for itself by saving all those sponges (and, of course, improving the home life of this particular household).Bite the bullet and get this item. (With a bit of luck, now it's been invented, far cheaper copies will come along within the year...).

Great for cleaning knives
Especially good for bread knives

Not worth it for small/ thin blades knives
Bristles are just a tiny bit too far apart to clean both sides of a slim knife at the same time. Otherwise works well for thicker knives. Hard to clean the bristles effectively.

Expensive but useful
My partner is especially OCD over the dishes and always refused to wash cutlery because it would simply take too long as he would scrub forever. However I got this (to match all of the other joseph joseph cleaning supplies we purchased elsewhere), and since then he has been extremely happy to do any dishes .It cleans cutlery extremely well with very little soap. Highly recommend if you don't have a dishwasher, as well as their other products.

They look like a set of dentures but chew through cutlery!
These are easy to hold and use on cutlery. They get into the very awkward parts of forks and clean up a treat. Other than cutlery, your options are limited.Sturdy, easy to grip and hold when wet. they do the job.

Good but unnecessary
I love JJ products, but this I found to be a bit of a gimmick. I find myself just folding over a scouring pad or using a washing up brush to wash my knives rather than this, gives me more control

Started good but didn’t last long.
I liked it at first but after a month or so, it starts getting a little groggy and you wouldn’t want to put your cutlery into it for washing. It’s an ideal size but the brush seems to deteriorate very quickly and in the end… I decided to just return to a conventional washing brush.
