Fantastic set of food storage containers, all glass, with clip on lids. These now keep all my salad ingredients fresh in the fridge. Everything is chopped small, stored in my new glass boxes, and ready to mix into a salad at a moment's notice. They look good, they're hygienic and user friendly. The lids are easy to remove and fix on, and they're all different colours, so the fridge looks so organised now!

Very smart looking and handy containers. Suitable for the oven, microwave and freezer as per description.The first time I put the lids on some of them were quite difficult to shut but that might be because I put them in the dishwasher to wash before first use - washed by hand since and not had a problem.I would note the lids are completely plastic though - I misread and thought the clear section of the lid was glass too.

First off, '18 pieces' means 9 boxes with 9 lids, not 18 boxes.I bought these expecting the lids to be glass, based on answers to some of the customer questions (newer answers have since confirmed they aren't glass). The lids are polycarbonate or acrylic. I'd been searching around for all-glass containers since learning about the poisons we're being exposed to via plastics - plastic food packaging, plastic bottles, plastic lined cans and plastic-coated tetrapak milk and juice cartons. It isn't just bisphenol-A we need to worry about (so anything plastic that says 'BPA free' isn't necessarily safe). All plastics leach toxic substances via direct contact and also into the air by petroleum out-gassing, where the toxins are released from the plastic in gaseous form. So having plastic lids on glass containers is only a half-step in the right direction.These toxins are cancer-causing, hormone-changing and have an oestrogen effect upon males and females, apparently de-masculinising men/ boys and de-feminising women/ girls! But if you want to try to minimise your exposure to the toxins in plastics then all-stainless or all-glass containers are going to be much better, especially when you consider the money they're asking for nine glass bowls with plastic lids that don't actually solve the problem. To read reviews on these boxes where customers are complaining about the lids not being microwaveable horrifies me. Just look up the health effects of eating microwaved food.I've returned these for a refund. The search for 'safe' food containers continues.

I bought these as I am getting rid of as much plastic in my kitchen as possible. I thought these would be prefect, but upon receiving them, I discovered tat the lids were plastic. I have given them a one star as the description on the web-site and on the box was misleading. It was a little tricky returning them, but managed to do so and all was fine in the end.It is a shame as they seemed fine and of OK quality, so had they had glass tops, they would have been great. If you don't care about plastic and the colours were nice and bright . Can't say what the strength of them was like as I returned before using.
