I got myself these coloured pencils so I could have my own set instead of pinching my son's! Recovering from a operation I've finally been able to do colouring in my adult colour book, which has been very therapeutic. Ive really enjoyed using these colour pencils, I've definitely noticed a big difference between the cheap ones I usually get. These are so very soft and smooth to colour with, you only need to press gently with these to colour which I'm really pleased with as I get very painful arms due to health conditions so are ideal to use. Im no professional but as there such soft pencils I think you could easily blend the colours with your fingers if your drawing. There are a lovely variety of colours in this set although I think they come out quite a bit lighter than what the colour actually looks on the lead. They come in a nice sturdy black cardboard tube and the outer of all the pencils are black to - they actually look really quite stylish!! They arrived all nicely sharpened, ready to use straight away. If your an art student I think this would be a lovely set to use on various projects. As they are a soft type of pencil, just make sure you start off using them gently - I wasn't very happy when I put a bit to much pressure on one to shade my leaf and have the nib snap on me!! Lol Some people might think they are a little expensive for colouring pencils but you really do get what you pay for.

Surprised that these have so many 5 star reviews. The colours are not vibrant and appear patchy. I only bought them because of the excellent reviews. I have bought Staedtler in the past and will buy Staedtler pencils next time.
