My ancient Barbour finally fell apart after too many meetings with bramble bushes, and I wanted a jacket some where between a winter-in-the-mountains duvet jacket, and a fleece top which got saturated after 10 minutes in the rain.Despite being about 15% of the cost of a direct replacement, this jacket fits perfectly, is warm and completely waterproof. It even has side pockets for the hands so that the patch pockets can stay closed.The zip is large and chunky, and while not the brass one I was used to, looks eminently serviceable.

There's a big difference between showerproof and waterproof and this fits into the latter. Coated with wax, the rain cannot penetrate this coat. Once you get back home, simply shake the coat and the water droplets just fall off. It's a very warm coat, looks great quality and an ideal coat for the looming winter months. However, you do sweat inside it, that's the only negative.It has two large bottom pockets, secured with studs and two side pockets for keeping the hands warm. It also has a "poachers" pocket on the inside, which is fine for storing the hood and a pair of gloves, or even some liht shopping. It has a metal zip which seems quite robust and fit for purpose. It would have been nice if the poachers pocket had a stud or velcro fastening but it's no big deal.All in all, it's a great value coat and I'm delighted with it.

Received the coat as described and on time, everything is as described and the zipper works perfectly also the poppers open and close fine, other people have said that they are poor grade,I can say not in my case maybe they don't treat the product with respect.

Ordered large and for me this is the correct sizing for large as there is room for extra work wear if needed. I took the risk reading the reviews and things like the zip are good and it has poppers. Use silicone oil on these if they became stiff. The hood is a great and folds up nice for a pocket, but as I work a lot outside I will buy a wide brimmed waxed hat. Overall a really good coat for the money and made in England. Beware I had it a week and popper button fell off, took ages to get a replacement so I have down graded my review to match my experience.

Fits like a glove, feels comfortable when worn and is lovely and warm in cold weather.No sign of water seeping through when out in the rain. Worth the the money I paid.

this was a good price, and good value, BUT: two things let it down. One is that it was slightly but only slightly less in measurement; the bigger problem is one that is common with a lot of these jackets: the zip, being plastic tooth and also "storm zip" (two way) can take a remarkably long time to set up to "zip". It requires patience, which is not something you have when it's raining. Therefore I cannot give this garment five stars. Yes it is good, yes it is water resistant but extremely annoying when trying to zip it up.
