Q: Do these fit chairs that have a spring clip under the base.

I think the spring clip you mention is part of the gas strut. On my chair both the top and bottom of the gas strut are slightly tapered and it is only the tapers that actually hold the chair seat and bottom section together. The replacement strut came with clear instructions advising use of a hammer to separate the old strut from both top and bottom parts of the chair. Once I knew this it only took me a couple of minutes to replace the old strut. Chair is like new now.

Q: I have no idea what size to purchase. My office chair takes up to 17 st, would you be able to advise me on what size gas lift to buy?

How tall are you? I weigh about 13.5 stone and 5.9". With hindsight I would have fitted the 7" lift - not the 9" but I guess that's a matter of preference.The lift is certainly easy to fit - assuming the fitting size is universal. Just knock the existing lift out top and bottom - it needs two or three solid whacks - and fit the new lift. No need to take the fitting off the chair - which I did - not knowing any better at the time. Hope this helps - please feel free to come back.brok

Q: I was wondering can you verify is this product is a class 4 cylinder? I'm looking it for a vertagear sl4000 chair.

This will take up to 160kg as stated, the grade 4 is rated at up to 250kg. It should fit, but is not as highly rated as a class 4 gas lift.
