These long tubular incandescent bulbs are used in applications where decorative appeal is desirable. The bulb is approximately 5.6 inches long and has a diameter of approximately 1.25 inches. It is commonly used in art and picture lights, horizontal sconces and some desk lamps What differentiates our lights from similar bulbs is the fact that the filament (the thin wire inside the bulb that produces the light) actually runs the full length of the glass tube, thus producing an even light throughout the length of the bulb, for that classic look and long life. Many cheaper bulbs use a regular very short filament that is located in one end of the bulb, producing a concentrated hotspot resulting in glare and shorter life.
