Capacitor Discharge Pen, FDB1, 10-1000V, Rectangular, Metal, Fast Discharging, High Voltage Repair Tool

I used this doing some work on my tube amplifier , very handy and priced right, I didn't need a real expensive one, I don't work on audio project that often.

The first discharge pen I purchased didn’t work. It did absolutely nothing. No light came on, and the capacitor stayed fully charged. I sent it back to Amazon, and YEKMLCO sent another one to me. It works great. Guess the first discharger I received was bad.

I used this to change a capacitor in my AC unit.I was quoted $440 to change a $23 capacitor.After doing some U-Tubing, I was able to safely change the capacitor myself, in less than 5 minutes

Great items that works

Looks like the device I ordered arrived DOA. Tred to discharge a charged capacitor and the LED did not illuminate. Tested voltage at capacitor before and after - no change. Tested resistance between the two tips of the tool and it was OL. I traced continuity back to the beginning of the circuit board, and that was OK, so something wrong on the board. I have never worked with surface mount capacitors, resistors, etc, before (I work on vintage audio equipment) so I did not go any further. Unfortunately, I did not try using this tool until after the warranty period had expired so I cannot return. I may try to figure out what is going on with the surface mount items, or I may just order another to see if it works. It is kind of a nice design and would be great if it works.

The unit did not work at all. I think it was broken at arrival although it looked fine physically. The LED on the top did not come on, nor did it discharge the cap.
