Complete with built-in con trick
The printer prints OK, when you can get it to wake up. For me that is always a manual exercise as sending something to print from my desktop doesn't seem to get through to the printer's brain. Very tedious. It is also incredibly slow. I can live with that but I am angry about the ink situation. With my former inkjet printers, and there have been many, the 'ink low' warning always come long before the cartridges run out so I just press OK and keep printing. With this one you have to either replace the ink cartridge or cancel printing. With a set of replacement cartridges running at £49 it's a total con. I'm looking for a workaround. Anyone know of one?

Does not use compatible cartidges effectively
I have had Epson printers for many years, but I can honestly say that this one is the worst I have ever encountered. Basically its a big con. Most people accept that Epson make their money by selling printers as lost leaders and make up the shortfall by selling expensive ink. With most Epson printers I have previously owned, and still own, you can use good quality compatible cartridges and the printer will work effectively for years. With this one it hates compatible cartridges, and does all sorts of things to stop you using them. It tells you they are incompatible, gives you the option to use them and they work for a few pages, then the problems begin. Poor reproduction, head cleaning required, alignment incorrect, low ink (with a new cartridge) and then it refuses to print. Put in an original and everything is dandy!

Printing quality was good, but there is one big but
I bought this printer from PCWORLD. Printing quality was good, but there is one big but. The printer was not feeding paper straight so everything you printed looked a bit wonky. It took 2 visits to the store and they finally replaced it. Guess what?! The new one was printing exactly the same!!!! I had to return it. Sorry Epson, but you are not getting any more money from me, I thought I was buying a good printer. I don't know how people add their reviews on PC World website, I couldn't hence writing here to warn everyone who wants to buy one.
