Dreambaby Stop Slam, White, One Size

Unlike others, I think this product does exactly as described. No noise, stops the door slamming perfectly. Iv just put a padded sticker (Home Bargains) on the door, and bingo, works great.

The cheaply made plastic casing and internal spring cannot withstand the slamming of a door, or even basic fitting. As soon as it was installed and the door closed normally, the moving part jammed inside and needed to be removed with a screwdriver, making the device completely useless. It's a good product idea but not well executed. Do not waste your time - if you want to protect little fingers from a door that slams in the wind buy a 'slide arm door closer' for £50-60 from an ironmongers instead. Will probably look nicer too.

Bought one in Nov 17, easily fitted to the top of my door frame but found that, although not as noisy as the door slamming, the sound from the jarring mechanism when the door smacks the spring loaded catch can be quite noisy. In addition there was then not enough force left in the swinging door to allow the door to successfully reach the latch and close. It began to squeak so after a spray of WD40 which solved the issue, it stopped functioning about 6 weeks later in March 2018 so I bought another, Fitted it slightly differently (precisely aligned as close as possible to the door frame) and it now works like it should. Much cheaper and unobtrusive than other door internal door damper systems I've looked at online which seemed to be >£40. Would be nice to see it in a range of colours to match common internal door woods.

I assumed this would slow door closing but no, it stops the door dead if door is closing fast.Great for protection of kids fingers

Excellent item, it works well much to the disappointment of my overly dramatic 5 year old who is no longer able to slam the door as she flounces out. Recommended.

I brought 4 and none of them operate correctly.They do stop the door slamming but they dont disengage to allow the door to close without reaching up and playing with the pin.Took them all off.They also damage the door.

The spring didn't have the strength to stop the door from slamming, or would simply jam and hold the door open. Was trying to use it on a heavier door that leads to the garage, so may work on lighter, interior doors, but general impression was a cheap, badly made product.Sent it back and got a full refund with no problems.

[WORKS but] not in all orientations e.g. it works when fitted to the top of a door frame or when fitted with the 'striker' facing upwards in a vertical direction. If fitted to the side of a door frame to prevent a halfdoor or gate from slamming, the mechanism fails to function!
