Q: can you use it already made candles ? (e,g i have a candle that i'll like to re use but the wick in that candle has already burned out) it's an 18oz

I have store-bought candles in glass jars. They burn in the center (swamping the wick and putting it out, but leaving lots of wax all around the sides). I take a thick, wide-mouth, not too tall or too big around jar (I buy a pretty one or I use a left-over jar like an olive jar or pickle jar) and affix the new wick to the bottom of the jar. As the wax in my main candle burns and puddles up around the wick, I pour the hot wax into the new jar. Soon I have a candle. I put a new wick in the first jar and as the second candle burns, I pour the wax back into the first jar. Your first jar does not need to be "totally clean" of old wax. You just need enough space to affix a new wick. If you have cold wax up the sides, just take a serrated kitchen knife and go around the sides. The cold wax will pile up (like snow) and then it will burn, too.

yes you can use these wicks for beeswax sheets some wick you get can be different thickness, so its trial to see you have the correct one hope this helps.

Q: I need 6" to 8" Candle wicks that make a loud crackle. Where do I get them?

If you want crackle you need wood wicks. Wooden wicks has a sample pack that is reasonable. You get 4 each of all the sizes they sell.

Disappointing

Disappointed with these, I'm new to candle making but I have done quite a lot of research. I tried these wicks using soy wax on a 3 1/2 inch diameter jar and it just made a tunnel in the centre. I also tried them on a 2 inch diameter jar and I still didnt get a full melt pool.
