Very effective at reducing heat transfer!
We purchased a barn style storage shed with a loft and a metal roof. We placed the Radiant Guard over the 2x4's that frame the roof on the inside which left an approximate space of 3 1/2" of air space between the Radian Guard and the roofing material. This was very effective at blocking the heat coming through the roof and probably lowered the temp in the shed about 20 degrees. I was very impressed! It's also fairly easy to work with and is relatively strong and doesn't rip easily but can easily be cut with scissors.

Great product, cheaper locally.
This is really nice stuff. It's actually a lot cheaper at HD but it's not stocked and delivery is slower so I paid extra to get it quicker from Amazon. It's very tough and thick and does not tear but will cut easily.I would highly recommend getting a $20 pneumatic stapler from Harbor Freight to install. Of course you will need a compressor for this but it's worth it. I used around 2000 staples for a 1200 sq ft attic. After install this really made a difference in my attic heat. Well worth it.

I can make several comments. It is easy to install. You can cut panels and if too short, or a hole (uneven roof) you can just tape over with metallic insulation tape and you don't notice. It reflects light really well and it definitely insulates the attic in winter from drafts and cold. When lights are on, the room warms up.We have not had this on long enough to assess its radiant barrier insulation benefits; that likely can not happen until July here in the far northeast (we still are freezing in NY).What was important to us was insulation against the old attic insulation making it safe to manouver without exposure to that stuff; ease of insertion, and it really does provide insulation against the cold. We have had only 1 60 degree day and the insulation did not get overly warm. I hope to have an opportunity to update this once summer comes.

Works well for blocking RF
This stuff will reflect radio waves and microwaves. What that means is if you are using it to stop attacks with directed energy weapons., The ones law enforcement and the medical community like to call mental illness despite being specifically outlawed in several states you need to be careful. Look at it as a mirror for microwaves. If you don't do it right you'll end up being cooked twice as bad! If you do it right you can cook them back with the reflected energy. Do it wrong and now you are screwed! What would have just gone through the wall is now bouncing back and forth until absorbed. I got my face fried with reflected radar energies by using this. Sleeping under it while being assaulted with directed energy weapons is an interesting experience. You can expect lots of static sparks popping everywhere! If you're a "Targeted Individual" It stops some stuff, but they turn up other things instead. Just make sure you don't get extra microwave cooked by making a parabolic reflector! It would be good for making a tent for shielding. It's made with a durable material like a thin tarp and can withstand a fair amount of crumpling. Overall a good deal but beware if you use this to protect yourself from a crazy neighbor with a busted up microwave oven, that it reflects radiowaves, it does not absorb them and it would be like shining a laser in a house of mirrors if you use it wrong potentially making a relatively weak beam an amplified one. Still a good deal!

The foil was very easy to work with and having to to this after ...
The roll was shipped and delivered in 2 days and was torn open by the shipper, but the product was OK so we kept it. The foil was used to retrofit a vaulted ceiling that wasn't insulated or vented properly by the builder. The foil was very easy to work with and having to to this after the fact was hard enough to deal with and this product made life so much easier. We used it to wrap around 3/4" foam sheeting and then used more foam on the top side to create air space between the foil wrapped foam boards and the bottom of the roof deck. This was needed to create the air space from the eave to the ridge for proper venting and the needed air space for the barrier to perform correctly. We insulated behind that with R-25 fiberglass insulation. The foil barrier alone before the insulation was installed created a better comfort level than the entire area was before the retrofit and now with the insulation and the drywall installed it is a completely different area. I can't wait to order more to do our attic area...

Not Bad! Thanks RadiantGuard
This review is way over due. Infact 4 months overdue. I am so impressed with the performance of the radiant guard I purchase and installed under my rafters inside my attic. It literally dropped my attic temperature over 20 degrees. For instant, I live in south texas and my current air temperature outside right now is 95 degrees. My attic temperature is an incredible 99 degrees. I installed this in June and immediately notice my upstairs bedrooms much cooler. Also my old air conditioner was now kicking off for the first time once the upstairs thermostats reach their programed temperature of 78 degrees. Before, they would literally run all day non stop. Last August 2015, my electric bill I paid $281 This current August will was $242, That's a almost 40 dollar savings. I figure the radient guard will pay for it self in one year. Not Bad!Thanks RadiantGuard. Outstanding product and most highly recommended

Better than bubble foil, top quality.
Pro quality. Unlike bubble Mylar versions, this stuff lasts forever and is what insulation contractors use. I know some people use the bubble product as insulation, I prefer using this and then allowing a 1" air gap between the foil and traditional insulation. This provides the benefit of the bubble version but with a much higher R value and longer product lifespan. Yale and the US Govt have studies on this that are helpful and easily found via Google.
