Bathroom occupancy sensor
Works exactly for the purpose I bought it. I got this so I would have visibility into when the bathroom was in-use by roommates namely during peak-usage times in the morning. The big question was whether I could set rules for door closure, and out of the box I had alerts setup for exactly this in minutes. My only slight critique would be having the ability to change the alert tone in the software, as on my Samsung Galaxy S8, it does not play any tone. Eventually, I'd like to get a smart plug with a connected bathroom indicator, similar to aircraft, to further enhance the functionality of the system.

At the end of the day -- garbage. It's unfortunate as the connectivity
At the end of the day -- garbage. It's unfortunate as the connectivity, the app interface, and the reliability of notification are all fine. The problem is that the notification gives no sound alert. You have to be staring at your phone to realize that your door has just been opened. That makes it completely useless for someone who is working, out-and-about, driving, or is simply comfortable not to have their phone biologically attached to their hand. If I'm away from home, I want to know immediately that my door has been opened -- not an hour later when I get a break at work and check my phone; not 30 minutes later when I pull over for gas; and not ten minutes later when I pull it out of my pocket to glance at my phone. Most robberies last 5-10 minutes and they'll be long gone before you even know they'd been there. An immediate sound alert would at least give the police a chance to get there before they leave. A good idea executed well until the final, and most crucial, detail. When I asked tech support why there's no sound alert, they had the illuminating response of "They made it that way".Save yourself the hassle. Don't buy this.

Ok door sensor that leaves a lot to be desired
I really wanted to install one of these sensors on the door leading into my garage. My garage receives a decent, albeit not extremely powerful WiFi signal from my router. When I'm in the garage, my iPhone connects to Wifi just fine, but I could not get this door sensor to properly install in the garage. The installation kept failing. So I decided to move it the downstairs door, which is much closer to my Wifi router. Once I did that installation succeeded the first time, so the only thing I can conclude on this is this sensor needs a very strong signal to work.Once I got it installed it works, but some of the results are less than desirable. First off, I can't get it to work with Apple Homekit. Maybe this device is not Apple Homekit compatible, but that was a big disappointment. Because of this, I was unable to get alerts on my wife's iPhone along with mine. Once I got it set up in the app, it gave me the option to invite someone else to receive notifications, so I invited my wife. She received an alert on her phone, but the alert was from the Homekit app and since I could not get the device to work with Homekit, she was never able to set it up. I installed the iHome app and signed her in under my account hoping it would mirror the notifications that I receive when the door is opened, but no luck, only I receive notifications. So another big failure in that only 1 person in the house can get notifications that the door opens. Also, the notifications are pretty crappy. Sometimes they can be a 2-3 minute delay between the door opening and me getting a push notification on my phone. Also, even though I have sound enabled on my phone, the notifications are silent and just send a message, no beeping for an alert. So unless I'm looking at my phone I'll never know if the door was open or not (yes they do appear as a historical alert in my notifications listing so I can go back and see it later on).In conclusion, the device does work, but it needs a very strong wifi signal, its integration with Homekit doesn't work, notifications are disappointing, and only one of us can receive alerts.

2 week wonder.
I was excited to find a sensor that goes straight to the app rather than using a hub. It worked for 2 weeks before it started to not beep anymore when door was opened or send notifications. Ive paired the device 2 more times and once with removing and replacing the batteries. Doesnt work anymore. I gave it the benefit of the doubt from the reviews but i guess it was to good to be true. 2 stars for 2 weeks.

iHome product line offers peace of mind when I'm 1200 miles away....
I have been using the isb04 on my boat, along with several iHome smart plugs, water sensor and the 5-in-1 sensor for well over a year. iHome product line offers peace of mind when I'm 1200 miles away. This is fitted to a door and using IfTTT Rules to turn on a light and send me a notification when the door is open. Why the light? I also have a wifi camera pointed at the door. I want any unwanted guests to be well illuminated.

The notification to my phone works but would like some added functionality
Placed it in my mailbox. Now I know when the mailman/woman opens my box to put in mail. Also, I get notifications when it's opened after the delivery.Wish I could get Alexa to announce that mail arrived. The notification to my phone works but would like some added functionality.

Get a better option: It never got connected to WiFi
It was impossible to connect to the WiFi, I even tried right next to the router. I've connected several smart devices in my house and this was the first "iHome" one, I thought that maybe this device came defective, which is usually not a big deal because you can just replace it, I gave 1 star because there is no customer service at all. When the sensor failed the WiFi connection, the app suggests to call technical support, this is usually a waste of time, but I decided to give a try, with the surprise that their phone number is not working... I decided then to go to their website and find another way to get support, just to find out that they have a a message saying "We cannot accept online inquiries at this time. Please call us at <not working phone> ".I'll return and get a more reliable one.
