Safety Warning
Read instructions carefully Special Precautionary Notice It has come to our attention that Hottie thermal packs are being damaged by use in the small chamber microwave ovens that are now on the market. The damage appears as holes of melted plastic in one or more corners of the plastic pouch. This may occur on the first time of use, and may therefore easily be mistaken for a manufacturing defect. The damage occurs when the Hottie thermal pack is unable to rotate freely. The pack does not need to become trapped to cause this damage, which may in some cases result from a very short interruption to rotation. If your microwave oven is small--17 litre or less--or your turntable is less than 25 cm diameter or rotation of the pack is impeded in any way, you should not use that microwave to heat your Hottie in the normal way. It is possible to gently roll your thermal pack and secure with an elastic band. Some customers have found this satisfactory in smaller microwaves. From March 1st 2011, we will no longer replace free of charge thermal packs which show this type of damage. We thank the many loyal customers whose feedback has helped us identify the cause of this problem. We are working to produce a thermal pack which will both fit smaller microwave ovens and maintain the high standards of warmth, comfort and safety our customers have come to expect from Hotties. Warning: Do not overheat. Warming this product to high temperatures beyond instructions can lead to the leakage of hot and hazardous liquid. If your microwave oven has a capacity of 17 litres or smaller, with a chamber dimension width that prevents the Hottie rotating freely, this product will not be suitable.

Far better and safer than traditional hot water bottles!
I have been using two of these Hotties on a regular basis for several years now and they are so good that if they were ever to be discontinued, I would buy up at least half a dozen so that I would never have to do without them! You just pop them in the microwave for 2 minutes or so, depending on the wattage of your appliance - and they really will stay hot for HOURS! In fact, as long as they remain in contact with your body, they never seem to get really cold. I have often woken up after an 8 hour sleep to find them still warm, which is amazing.I use them to ease pains in my back, legs and neck etc all year round and to keep me warm in bed in the winter months. And they are SO much better and safer than both traditional hot water bottles and the type of microwave 'hot water bottles' that are filled with gel, as traditional hot water bottles require filling with very hot water and rubber ones eventually rot; and the gel-filled ones have a nasty habit of leaking eventually! Whereas these little beauties are filled with layers of some type of fabric or perhaps even paper, soaked in plain water, and their edges are very well sealed to prevent leakage. Indeed, I accidentally overheated one of mine once and before I knew it, it had blown up like a balloon in the microwave! I quickly took it out, thinking I had ruined it. But it gradually went back down - and is still working just as well as it always did, with no leakage! Of course, I wouldn't recommend anyone trying this at home (LOL) but I think this proves just how strong they really are.TIPS:1) NEVER, EVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PLACE THEM IN THE MICROWAVE WITHOUT THEIR COVERS! This is clearly stated on the polythene wrapper. But unfortunately some people seem to think they know better than the manufacturer and they remove the fabric cover before placing them in the microwave. THIS CAN AND WILL DAMAGE THE PAD as my own daughter found out when she tried it! So ALWAYS keep the cover on when microwaving them and they will last for years, as mine have!2) OVER HEATING THEM WILL DAMAGE THEM! So if they do not feel hot enough when you remove them from the microwave SLIP YOUR HAND INSIDE AND FEEL THE ACTUAL PAD before deciding to heat it for longer! Because you will probably find that the pad is plenty hot enough and that the heat just needs a few seconds to penetrate up through the fabric cover.3) If they have lost most of their heat and you want to reheat them, do NOT reheat them for the normal time unless they are stone cold, as that could overheat them and damage them! Instead, adjust the heating time according to how cold or warm they are!

Check the time required before you warm.
Have used Hotties micro bottles for many years for pain relief they provide a nice gentle warmth for tense back muscles. Because of their shape and size they are easily positioned to the desired area and you can sit back on them if needed. These are the newest incarnation of the product and the thing to know is that, depending on the wattage, they require less time in the microwave. So make sure you check before you warm it otherwise you may damage it.Would have been five stars from me however the case moults so I am awarding four stars.Happy shopping.

burst bottle
after only 5 days use the bottle burst open whist being heated.. it was only 1 minute into a 2 minute heat as stated on the instructions, which we had used before.. it was not overheated.. and is now useless.. when tying to contact the manufactures on-line, they immediate state if bottle has burst it was overheated.. this was not the case with ours.. it seems they are aware these bottles burst quite often.. I am still waiting to see if they will refund my money.. all they offer is a 20% discount for a new bottle.. but I no longer have any trust in this product...

Not for a child
When it is warm and the cover separates at the back it is too hot to give to a child. My one exploded by being mildly overheated. It wasn't a dangerous explosion in that the plastic bag burst and the contents were contained within the microwave but it did mean it couldn't be used again. Even when working properly the plastic bag is quite hard and it does not feel at all like soft toys do.

Hottie's good idea but Dangerous product.
I liked the Idea of heating a water bottle in a microwave but Reality was very different because although keeping strictly to heating time still caused this Hotties Bottle to split open, causing burns to my back.I bought two replacement gel packs but am most dissatisfied as yes, they too split along seam and special impregnated papers spewed out, making this item Dangerously Unusable and - in my eyes - Unsuitable for the purpose it was bought.

Great.
It fits perfectly and its good at passing heat. That's about as much as anyone is interested. So good value of money considering its decent quality.

Brilliant
Great product which is easy to use (and reuse), no mess or fuss just a few minutes in the microwave and done.I bought this one as primarily it was for my wife and it drops a star as I felt the leopard print cover felt a bit cheap in hand (acrylic fur). I would definately buy again only next time would go for a different cover such as the quilted one as the acrylic fur cover goes right through me. But then that won't be a problem for most I would imagine!Would like to see these micro hotties with a bigger range of covers.Size in centimetre's: 21 x 25

THIS ITEM IS FANTASTIC
I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the parcel up. Not one whiff of wheat - great! (You had better make sure your micro plate is 25cm otherwise it will not fit.) When you heat it & begin to use you would think there's nothing - no heat/warmth? But as your body/feet press up against you the warmth comes through & not all to once. Mine stays warm for most of the night. I have neuropathy & feel the cold terribly - There is no worries with any part of your body getting burnt. I'm going to buy some more for friends & family for Xmas pressies & a couple extra for myself.
