Ideally, making all the adjustments does require th use of a spanner - an adjustable spanner would be ideal. Most adjustments however can be made easily by hand.

Yes! It does swivel and it can be adjusted as you would like. By the way if your looking for an affordable throne, then this is an amazing option! It's also really comfortable! I've had mine for about 5 months and it is great for those long sessions. Enjoy!

Can you raise the hieght of the seat

Yes you can. Like most other drum thrones, this seat is fixed to a spindle that you can rotate to raise or lower the seat.
