After a couple of months, no recurrance of the shutdown issue
Installed the new thermistor a couple of months back and have had no recurrance of the shutdown issue. That said, during the installation, I removed about two pints of compressed lint in the vent system. There was a large clump on the existing thermistor, which probably caused they dryer to stop prior to the clothes being dry. You might try cleaning your dryer vent system first if you are short on money. As long as I was going to open the dryer to clean, it is probably good preventive maintenance to replace the 10-year old thermistor anyway. Bring a vacuum with a crevice tool to clean during the installation process. If you have dust allergies, wear a mask for this mission. It is not a 15-min job either; with all of the additional cleaning, took an hour.

Great product at reasonable price.
Correct part for my Whirlpool Duet dryer. Bought this due to the E1 code and what the troubleshoot sheet said I needed. Don't always trust what the codes describe, because it may be control board. OHM (Ω) the resistance of the old thermistor to make sure this is the problem. Not going to return, because the price was not a lot and I will save them just in case I need it in the future.

Great price, perfect fit
Great price, perfect fit, and worked fine. Unfortunately this wasn't the problem with my Whirlpool Duet dryer. I later learned control board was sporadically overheating the dryer and blowing the thermal fuse. The thermostat was listed as a common cause, so I purchased this replacement part on Amazon. I'd buy again if needed.

Way better than buying a new dryer
The dryer was ending the cycle before the clothes were dry. Started as an intermittent thing then was a constant. Replacing this part fixed the problem. Inexpensive and does the trick. Not too bad to install either.

I’m not sure I got the right part. But this was listed after amazon prompted me to enter model #. wed6400swo. It worked for a moment and now back to PF code. Bummed.

Inexpensive attempt to repair a dryer headed to the dump.. It cost less than a service call, was easy to put on, and it fixed my dryer. Whats not to like?
