How long is each strand of licorice?

The majority of my pack was kind of mushed together, so pulling the strings out resulted in broken pieces about a couple of inches long. You could tell they should have been closer to about 8-12". This pack was much more flavorful and easier to eat than the red laces from the same brand/company.
