So revealing!
A must have for any fan of the Righteous Brothers. A wonderfully happy, sad, inspiring and entertaining book about this incredible singer.

The Time Of My Life
Unlike many biographies, this one is very easy to read. It's very informative and paints a fascinating picture of what the music business was like in the 60's and 70's, together with anecdotes about other singers of that era. The relationship between the 'brothers' is explored full-on and there are unusual asides, particularly the murder of Bill Medley's wife. The Righteous Brothers made two of the greatest pop records ever in You've Lost That Loving Feeling and Unchained Melody and this book will appeal to anyone who was a fan of 60's music and wants to know more about what made the Righteous Brothers tick.

Heartfelt autobiography
Bill Medley really opens up and does not hold back. A good, easy and highly interesting read that places the reader " right there".

Medleys' thinly veiled envy of Hatfield
Having just read this book in a few hours, I would describe it as an easy read. However, I felt like I was reading a diary of a frustrated insecure bitter man whose ghost writer must’ve been a 12 year old boy! Irrelevant childish point scoring (no we don’t need to go on Youtube and type in The Righteous Brothers, Hollywood Backstage so Bill can prove to the readers, Bobby had a $50,000 Beverly Hills hotel wedding reception in 1965 at the expense of his best friend/agent Jerry Perenchio). Jerry is a entertainment agent; not a charity worker. He would have made his money back from all the media present whom he would have charged licensing fees for the rights to film and publish pictures of a Righteous Brothers wedding. This was and still is a popular publicity ruse used to keep their artist still in the media and make money off the back of it. If Bobby didn’t say thank you (according to Bill), perhaps he never asked for it in the first place.Poor Bobby Hatfield has been dead for 11 years when this book was written yet Bill still feels the need to disparage only Bobby; not his other A-lister friends, whom he eulogise throughout his book. Bill isn’t shy to share with the readers how his A-lister buddies gave him the most credit for the success of the Righteous Brothers, even to secretly congratulate Bill for having the ‘better vocals’. Most of the post baby boomers generation and renowned vocal coaches would beg to differ. Does Hatfields’ bones in the grave still bothers Medley? About 60% of this book was a character assassination of Bobby, who isn’t alive to refute/contest statements attributed to him. There are two sides to every story. Given that the book reveals morsel description of the many conflicts Bill and Bobby had during their professional career, one should bear in mind, that such titbit recollections can be taken out of context thus putting Hatfield in a bad light at all times, whether or not that was a deliberate motive from Bill and his ‘camp’. Such controversy sells books. While there were some funny stories from Bill (beauty school incident) who had a good mature soulful bass/baritone voice, and some sad accounts of his own childhood as well as the terrible death of his former wife Karen, his book revealed to be a thinly veiled envy of the once phenomenal versatile vocalist Hatfield (deceased). Whether Bobby had his own personal demons; this does not excuse Medley’s heartless mockery saying he gave Bobby money for a much needed facelift. A very jealous man would say something preposterous like that about anyone let alone a musical friend of many years. The irony is; Hatfield is still melting the hearts of young millennial/centennials female YouTubers for his beautiful singing voice and his Scandinavian conventional good looks (1964-1966 videos). On numerous times, Bill likens Bobby to an insecure 11 year old boy who needs his big daddy Bill to look after him. If Bobby was an alcoholic (again according to Bill), perhaps one has to wonder if Bill controlling behaviour had partly contributed to Bobbys' downward path? The whole book was a self-serving grandiose memoir of a man who harbours histrionic behaviour and insecurity stemming from his own childhood. Furthermore, the book shamelessly celebrates Medleys' past materialistic and licentious lifestyle and candidly reveals his numerous carnal encounters with strangers, prostitutes as well as cheating on his wives and girlfriends. While there are some interesting anecdotes and the story behind the birth of the great Righteous Brothers, this book is worth reading only just once (ideally for free) just so you can see how low a bitter shameless man can get for his own shortcomings. The Time of My life book is now in the recycle bin (why waste good paper?)

I heard Bill being interviewed on the radio and he came across as being a genuinely nice, humble man
I thought this book would be more interesting than it was. I heard Bill being interviewed on the radio and he came across as being a genuinely nice, humble man. Unfortunately what I read of the book left me thinking he was actually quite a big headed man. It seemed like it was page after page of telling the reader what a great bloke he is, consequently I got bored and did not finish the book. Quite annoying as it was an expensive book to download.

A list of names
I love the Righteous Brothers, but this Bill's story isn't really terribly interesting. It's really a list of people he thanks. Don't bother with the book, but buy his albums.

Poor Bobby!
I've been a Righteous Bros fan since the 60's & I was really looking forward to reading this book.OK so it's Bill Medley's autobiography so it's mostly about him but he does nothing but disparage his partner Bobby Hatfield & hardly gives him any credit at all. At one stage Medley is bragging how he can go out & make it on his own but after a few solo years his voice nearly gives out & he is advised to get back to Bobby to share the load. There are a few testaments from his showbiz friends saying what a great bloke Bill is but to me he comes across as not very nice at all. Medley had lots of personal problems & he is candid about them but on the whole I prefer Bobby!

Awesome
Very easy to read. A succession of anecdotes along the path of Bill Medley 's life. The book providesa glimpse behind the scenes of a superstar who doesn't realize he IS. When a great singer is joinedwith another great singer - they became the magic called The Righteous Brothers. An interesting book that provides a better picture of Bill Medley.

A Good Read for Music Fans -The Righteous Brothers and More- Bill Medley's Life Story
As Bill Medley tells it is in his current stage show (still performing in his 80's) It's been over fifty years since the Righteous Brothers released You've Lost That Lovin Feelin' - a song that is said to be the most played in radio history and launched The Righteous Brothers into a Hall of Fame worthy career that continues to this day.His biography gives the reader the interesting details of his start in show business, his contacts with famous artists i.e Beatles, Sinatra, Aretha, Stones (you name it) his sometimes rocky relationship with partner Bobby Hatfield and how he was able to continue in music after the latter's untimely death. Wives, children and his early upbringing are mentioned and contribute to what is an interesting read. Recommended.

A Very Enjoyable Read about the life of Bill Medley
I graduated high school in the 1960s so The Righteous Brothers were a part of my teenage years...and because I continued to love their music the rest of my life I couldn't wait to read this book. I stumbled onto an interview of Bill Medley on PBS a month ago and I was sorry it wasn't longer than it was...but that is how I learned about his new book. I couldn't wait for the book to arrive and I enjoyed every page...and was sorry when it was over.....but I greatly appreciated the openness of Bill Medley. I have listened to his music for more than fifty years...did I just admit that?...but now after having read his book I also like the man very much. I could sit on his front porch and listen to his stories.(Mike Marino called Bill a real "raconteur" and I hope people don't miss that about him.) He came to know many entertainers that were big in our time and it was fun to learn of his personal relationships with them. I also appreciated his affection for Bobby Hatfield. I was one of t.he many teenage girls who were at the Cow Palace for the Beatles first and second concerts there and the Righteous Brothers opened for them for the first tour...I then saw them again in San Diego when I was going to college in 1967. This time it was their concert and tour...and it was so very good and it was packed to the gills. I would love to go to a Bill Medley concert now! I wish he would return to the Lake Tahoe or Reno clubs. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the music of the last 50 years...why not...Bill Medley was a part of the scene and generously shares stories about many stars of the time. I am glad that his life has had happiness centered around his family and friends and that he is so highly thought of by his friends. The warmth that his son and daughter spoke of him with was palpable and loving....and he obviously knew when he met the right girl for him when he met his wife of 27 years, Paula. Lastly, I am so glad that this book was written and thought that when Bill Medley met Mike Marino that afternoon....he must have thought he'd met just the right person to help him get his story told.
