Multi-Rich8mm Wool Felt Carpet Underlay

The felt arrived one day earlier than predicted, so great service. It is only felt underlay so not much to enthuse about but it is perfectly adequate and thick enough to soundproof and protected my oriental rugs. It is good quality wool felt and will not fray or create dust so good value for the money.Recommended.

Reasonable for price, arrived promptly but smells of horses yes horses. Is it made from old horse blankets

I absolutely love this in comparison to the more modern underlays. It stretches easily so you have to be careful not to pull it too hard but the ease of laying makes up for that. Felt arrived a day sooner than expected. I will definitely use it again.

Was pleased with fast delivery, price and even quality until first close inspection revealed that some fine plastic threads are felted in to wool. That makes it dangerous for cats which can accidentally claw and swallow those plastic threads so easily pulled out.To make it safe for a pet I need to pull out each thread by hand from both sides!!!

Very good quality, To touch, its thick and warm feeling. fitted under my brand new lounge carpet, very noticeable bouncy feeling against the part worn underlay i had under old carpet. Would buy again!

The underlay contains what looks like mixed wool and other fibres, sandwiching a thin plastic sheet (which gives it some strength to hold together). Definitely not pure wool as one reviewer claimed. Looks like loosely felted wool at first glance, but the plastic sheet can be seen inside when held up to the light. A better choice than some others if you are trying to avoid synthetic plasticy underlay.

Before I purchased this product I asked if it had an odour. 6 people replied saying it did not. Well it has a strong smell of a barnyard. Hay mixed with manure. I hung it up in the hall and the place smells like a farm.I wanted to use this as insulation on a van, having removed the foil backed sound insulation at the front due to its toxic smell when the heating is on.Placed beneath a carpet or rug probably smothers the smell and I am sure it is good underlay.I would have used it on the allotment but it has a plastic backing. Binned unfortunately.
