Well acted true story
I loved watching the story unfold and the main character eventually finding faith after trying so hard to disprove who Jesus is.

I would encourage everyone to examine The Case for Christ!
This is a good movie! It takes it’s subjects seriously and touches on some emotions that for most of us are quite raw. The characters are well portrayed and the director has done his best to reflect their humanity and personalities in as much the limited length of the movie will allow. They are not just thrown into the mix to join the pieces of the story together. There are no “miracles” in this story! No lightning bolts from Heaven. It’s not a feel good movie where a bunch of Christians can get together and be pleased that God won in the end by using his supernatural powers to quell all opposition. This is JUST THE FACTS! This is a small taste of the substantial evidence in history to show where God has intervened in humanity’s stumbling to self-destruction to redeem those who would freely choose Him because of His great love for us!I think there are two kinds of people who will really get a lot from this film: Professing Atheists and Agnostics who are honest enough to admit they have have not really considered the evidence in The Case for Christ; and Christians who have not really studied to establish why they believe what they claim to believe. Many atheists hide behind intellectual arguments and reject the historical evidence, even though they rarely have examined much of it. Not only in this movie are some of the objections addressed, but Gary Habermas, William Lane Craig and others portrayed in this film have books and websites where you can check out and discuss further evidence in The Case for Christ yourself.Of course, like Lee, you’d need to decide in your own heart and mind what you want to do with those facts when you have them!To The Christians, I would say this story gives you a great starting place to be able to reason your way through the arguments atheists, Muslims and other objectors will throw at you. The information out there is hugely supportive of our faith in Christ. Hopefully this film could help you know where to start looking!PS: I AGREE.... WHERE ARE THE SUBTITLES ON THE PRIME VERSION?

The film is not the book
The film shows a hard-nosed, sceptical reporter confronting experts in order to get at the truth of all the issues that surround Jesus as Christ. He's not convinced at first but comes round grudgingly, only because the evidence points in one direction. That makes for a great story and might even convince the viewer to do the same.Unfortunately, when I read Strobel's book "The Case for Christ" then I felt it was written by a committed Christian who was interviewing other committed Christians in a non-confrontational way; asking relevant questions and collecting opinions. Indeed, in the book there are no points of disagreement at all between the author and his interviewees.Perhaps the book was written after the fact, which is why I prefer the story of this film instead. If you want to see more answers to his questions then you need to read the book.Would the book or film convince me that the facts point to only one conclusion? For me, no. There's still too much speculation and tentative guesswork in the process of interpreting the historical facts. Historical facts are not scientific ones; you can't test them here and now to check they are true. You either believe them to be true or you don't. Either way, it's a belief.

Fantastic script and cast
Usually Christian movies are over the top on the message they’re sending, but this is very watchable. Not preachy, just solid acting and interesting points on this religion. More factual than feelings. Enjoyed it a lot.

Searching for truth
After watching, God's Not Dead 2, in which Lee Strobel briefly appears, I was intrigued to find out more about Lee's conversion from atheism to Christianity. The film was the interesting story of an award winning journalist, Lee Strobel, who goes to a restaurant with his wife and daughter. His daughter, Alison, starts choking and a Christian nurse, saves Alison's life. Lee's wife, converts to Christianity, but Lee can't cope with the change. He sets out to investigate Jesus' death and resurrection and prove it is a hoax. This was a good film and I liked the different approaches and lengths Lee went to in his quest for the truth. I preferred the God's Not Dead 2 film and think that I now need to read Lee's book as I'm sure it will translate better into words rather than on screen.Worth watching! I learned some interesting facts about the historical Jesus.
