Forno Allegro Pizza Peel

I've been making pizzas from scratch in my trusty G3 Ferrari for years, using a wooden peel to slide on and off the stone but decided to give one of these a go as the old peel was starting to, well, peel. I chose this listing due to the combination of price with Prime delivery. I read a few reviews of similar peels beforehand and noted that some of them complained of difficulty sliding under the prepared pizza before cooking without puckering it up. There are only a few reviews for this peel, but they're probably all pretty similar and I can see why some people had problems.Basically, these are stamped out of sheet aluminium and so need a bit of 'finishing' before use. There's a sharp, slightly burred edge all around the peel which needs sanding off to get a smooth edge, so a bit like a new builder's trowel, it's too sharp. I used a metal file and two grades of fine wet/dry paper to get a nice smooth edge. If you don't have access to tools, you might get away with using a knife sharpening steel from your knife drawer followed by a brillo pad.I can confirm that after sanding down, this peel works a treat.

It’s just perfect, short handle works brilliantly when you are cooking pizzas and kids are watching their pizzas cooking, long handle gets in the way....

Good quality peel, nice aesthetic finish on the handle.Would maybe benefit from having some 'air holes' in it to enable an easier launch of pizzas.

This is a very well made pizza paddle. Solid wood handle away from the blade which reduces the chance of burned hands and a good gauge stainless blade. You can tell from the weight that this will last for many years.

Must have tool for pizza ovens, i use this with my Uuni 3 and works well in addition to the peel provided.
