Works GREAT - was getting stuck on Polaris hose but i fixed that!
update- it's been nearly a year, I'm very happy with the robot. It's still performing great!I will check back / update in a week or so and most likely update this to a five star review from four stars, assuming that my adjustments to the Polaris hose have fixed the beta robot frequently getting stuck on the hose. (I’ve had it running seven days now).First off I was very surprised and happy with how well this unit cleans any debris from the surface of my pool, it actually cleans much better than I was doing myself going around with a net about once a day or every other day. A big part of that is because there is a very fine mesh in the basket of this beta, so it grabs much smaller items and, tiny little things that would pass through my net. And of course it does a better job cause it’s constantly running. I very much recommend getting the unit that allows you to plug it into the wall to charge occasionally, although I only have had to charge it once, and that’s when it first came in and I just did that as you’re always supposed to fully charge any lithium ion Battery/devices before first use. It has been a week now and the unit has constantly showed “good battery level” so the solar seems to be working great. (The only indication of battery level is the two blinking green lights on the front of the unit). I have cameras around my pool so it does look like the unit runs 24/7 , although I’m assuming at times it pauses/stops. I just haven’t happened to see that , as anytime I see it , It’s running. The only reason I’ve taken off one star is because the unit would very frequently get stuck on my Polaris hose to the point where you would have to dip down the hose or push the beta back for it to get unstuck, I even tried leaving it stuck for 12 to 24 hours and it would not get unstuck, however, I think I’ve now fixed that. The other reason for taking off a star, I’m assuming this unit has an accelerometer built into it, or even if it doesn’t - it really should have much better detection of getting stuck on something like the Polaris hose so that it would back out or never collide with it in the first place, however this is not the case as it will frequently get stuck on the hose. But the good news is, I was able to resolve this (at least as of the past three days), simply by moving around the floaters on the Polaris hose, in my case I was able to just slide them around so that as you can see in the photo, floaters are as close together as possible, right by the hose junctions which keeps a majority of the hose down below the water level, and the parts where the two floaters are very close together are high enough up that the beta now does not get stuck up on them .You can see in the photos I’ve attached to this review, these photos are after I’ve adjusted the hose floaters and in these photos, the betta absolutely would have gotten stuck on the hose before my hose adjustments, however, as you can see it is not getting stuck now. Also, this may be very important, I changed the timers around so that my Polaris vacuum / hose only runs at night assuming the betta might be sleeping at that point, I’ve also changed the Polaris/ hose to only run a few hours a day as there’s much less trash on the bottom anyway, as opposed to before I had it running about eight hours a day. If the Polaris is running during the day and the betta is also running at the same time, there’s a much higher chance the hose will ensnare the betta. However, I will update in a few days if this has not resolved the issue, and the betta is still constantly getting stuck, however, that does not seem to be the case. It seems like all is good now vacuum hose pool, vacuum hose weights that you can buy on Amazon, however, that does seem to be pretty useless, as they’re not heavy enough nor do they properly fit the hose but as you can see in my photo, I did stick four of the 8x weights wedged on the actual floaters - so they may be helping keep the hose below the water however, I’m more inclined to believe that *just* sliding the floaters closer together is all that is needed. It would be nice if there were a slightly more expensive beta version that allowed you to see how much battery charge is in the unit and possibly updated firmware as well as adjust the sensitivity or collision detection. (however that would have to be via an app most likely, and it would most likely have to be more expensive than the $350 I paid for my betta se).Bottom line, if my adjustments to the Polaris hose have stopped the beta from getting stuck on it then I’m super happy with this beta and will recommend it to others, however, if however, it should be noted that initially the unit would constantly get stuck on the hose as in every four hours or so. (Will update this review and my rating in the next week or so.)(Also it’s very cool / neat to see the little unit driving around the pool and getting close to the wall and then reversing and rotating ECT)

Life changer! Saved our pool from frog eggs!
This thing is a life changer! This is the very first review I have ever written about a product I bought on Amazon, so that should tell you how awesome it is. We have a 40'x16' snowman shaped pool and it has only one measly skimmer so it is not efficient in keeping our pool clear of debris. Our pool also backs up to a wooded area so pollen and bugs and everything else under the sun falls into our pool. I could literally stand out there with a net all day and would never run out of things to skim out of the pool. I felt like I was always clearing junk out of my pool while my kids were playing in it but I never had time to enjoy the pool myself. This roaming skimmer has eliminated my job of clearing the pool forever! That is tremendous in itself but the real life changing aspect for me is about FROGS! I have tried everything I could possibly do to keep frogs out of my pool to no avail. And I mean everything! I watched every YouTube video on the subject tried all the suggestions and I guess my pool is just too desirable for frogs to be deterred. So we have had 2 years of rescuing tadpoles and trying to eliminate frog eggs out of the pool before they turn to tadpoles. It is a nasty tedious job and even when I put a cover on the pool, they lay eggs on top of the cover in the little rain puddles. It rains a lot in the South during the warm months. Plus putting a cover on my pool every day in the middle of the summer is just too much of a hassle. This skimmer has saved me the trouble by collecting all the frog eggs for me before they sink to the bottom. I just dump out the eggs and never worry about them hatching in my pool. It has liberated me of the all the labor involved in keeping the pool clean and relieved me of all the stress the frog invasion was causing me. I wish I would have discovered this miracle worker a long time ago. It made owning a pool an actual joy after 2 years of frustration and dread. I think every pool owner should have one of these.

Works great. Does what it promised. Pool has never been cleaner.
I own a backyard pool. I live on a greenbelt park with a huge Ash tree on the opposite side of my back fence. I also have my own tree that overhangs the pool. Together, these trees have burned through 3 pump motors. To counter the leaves, I have added in-line leaf catchers, and upgraded my pool vac to a rather expensive model that still gets choked by the leaves.Tired of fighting the battle, I interviewed a pool company to take care of weekly maintenance. The owner took one look at my trees and said he didn't think he'd be able to care for it because of those damned trees.I started seeing ads for the Betta on Facebook. I liked the idea. Skim up the leaves BEFORE they can fall to the pool floor and jam up the vac. Skim up the leaves BEFORE they can clog my poolside skimmer basket. Just skim up the leaves!I talked to the wife. I got the approval. I bought it. I opened the box and tossed her in the pool. We named her Betsy.Betsy's solar charging has kept her running 24/7 since we received her a month ago. I haven't charged her once. She motors across the pool surface, ping-ponging off the walls, zigging this way. Zagging that way. All the while, skimming up the leaves.Remember that in-line leaf catcher I mentioned. Betsy did have a rather amorous relationship with the basket that floats on top of the pool. I'd have to use the pool pole to separate them. Then, she'd get randy and mount him again. However, a glance at the clean bottom of my pool made an easy decision. Get rid of that mid-line leaf catcher. You don't need it anymore.Betsy works. She'd done what the videos said she would do. The pool guy now cleans my pool each week, his job made easy because the leaves have been sucked up by Betsy.Privately, I think she misses the leaf catcher. They had a groovy kind of love.
