Northrop F-5E & F-5F Tiger II (Spotlight ON) Hardcover – November 21, 2017

I have been a collector of aviation illustrations from many artists, especially profile artists, for four decades. Alexandre Guedes is absolutely one of the very finest. His artistic sensitivity to lighting and color is tempered against his photographic realism and documentary accuracy. This book, his first, is reflective of his attention to detail and artistry. The book is brilliantly laid out, with the profiles running horizontally and the binding at the top as you study them. The subjects in the book are fascinating too, with an eclectic mix of F-5s beginning with the first USAF examples and then depicting some of the many international air forces examples. I was delighted to get this book when it first came out and even more excited to receive it, it exceeded my expectations. I had seen Guedes art on social media and was truly looking forward to its release. I was not disappointed, it is truly a beautiful collection of profile illustrations. I look forward to more from Alexandre Guedes.
