Q: Can this printer be connected directly to my home WiFi network to allow wireless printing?

No or not readily at any rate. I had to return this model and get the M2070W for easy wireless setup and printing

Q: Can this printer use smaller paper than A4, o does anybody know of a printer that does

Yes as long as it's the same width or there are paper guides.

Q: Does it take well thick paper for compliments cards 260g?

I have just changed from Inkjet to this monochrome laser copier. It will take upto 300GSM but beware that the laser ink is less dense on paper that injet. Very Clean and very precise. For an office printing and scanner it is flawless.
