Great usb 3.o hub
I hooked up the Sabrent USB hub when I received it. It works flawlessly with my laptop and everything was recognized right off the bat. Great product at a great price!

Does a very good job bit I just wish the plug was reversed for a better fit with the Surface Pro 2.
This has served me well for adding multiple USB3 peripherals with a Surface Pro 2. I had no problems running an external blu ray recorder which required an additional USB port for power along with 2 USB3 1 TB external hard drives and one USB3 key simultaneously. I realize that even though this is USB3 that only so much data can pass through that one cable and back so I have no complaints about speed of data transfer. Blu ray playback through the tablet to a 60" flat screen played flawlessly while I worked on a file on the computer off of one of the external drives. This powered port has turned out to be a blessing for me when I want to load up my Surface Pro 2 with a ton of peripherals that need the power. My only annoyance with this and the reason I gave only 4 stars is the way the USB plug out is set upside down of the position I need the plug placed. I am forced to place the unit upside down and everything plugged in upside down so it can sit next to the tablet in order to use it easily. The power adapter should be smaller too.

not working with external hard disk
I received this USB 3.0 HUB today. Connecting to my windows 8 computer USB 3.0 port, and connect my external hard disk to this Hub. Computer could not connect to the external hard disk. I have tried another computer with windows 7, has the same problem. If I connect the external hard disk to my computer directly, my computer sees the hard disk right away. From my tests, this usb hub only works with Bluetooth, wireless mouse, usb to rs323 converter, or USB thumb drive. It would not work with external hard disk. There is no point to buy it that does not work with external hard disk. It is another paper weight or goes to electronic recycle bin. If I can give -*, it will be -***.Today (11/16), I received a replacement from seller. I tested it. It has the same problem, it does not work with USB 3.0 external hard disk when the HUB connected to USB 3.0 port. If the HUB connected to USB 2.0 port, it works fine. It means that cannot be used for USB 3.0 high speed file transfer.

Doesn't work well with my USB video card 2560x1600. The directly connected to laptop the video card works perfectly, but with the hub it is not recognized. Sometimes works, mostly not. Going to return the hub.

What You Should Know Before You Buy! (Review Updated)
I was provided a Sabrent 7-Port Portable USB 3.0 Hub with 4A Power Adapter for testing and review and was asked only to give my honest review, so this is what I found. What You Should Know Before You Buy:♦ It has 7 high speed USB 3.0 ports, giving you 6 more USB 3.0 ports available on your computer.♦ Has a high powered 4 Amp Power Adapter that allowed for charging multiple devices and power banks at the same time.♦ Simple Plug-and-Play installation with no separate driver installation required.♦ Had fast transfer speeds in excess of 130MB/s Read and Write to a Hard Drive in a Docking Station, but I had trouble maintaining a connection to the drive. It lost connection and the drive became inaccessible on all three of my tries. Conclusion:This USB hub has some nice features, but I had problems getting connecting to my hard drive docking station. It showed fast transfer speeds, but the drive became inaccessible before the benchmarking test completed all three times I tried. I had no trouble with any of the other hubs that I tested at the same time and I had no problems with the hard drive docking station connected directly to my computer immediately after my testing. While this hub has some nice features and showed some promising performance, I can't recommended it based on my testing.=========================UPDATE (01/12/2014):I received a replacement hub from Sabrent to make sure that I didn't get a defective unit and I did some re-tests. I essentially had the same problems that I had before. Once I plugged in this hub and plugged in my hard drive docking station, it became inaccessible and would not come back once I removed the hub. I had to reboot to get my hard drive back. While others had reported success with this hub, for some reason, this hub is not compatible with my particular computer and setup. As I mentioned before, I use this hard drive docking station and controller daily with no problems and have tested dozens of hubs with my setup, so I don't think it is an issue on my end. That being said, Sabrent is a great company that makes great products, so while I can't recommend this hub, I have tried many of their other products, and have never had a problem.

Sabrent 7 Port Portable USB 3.0 Hub with 4A Power Adapter
I gave it 5 stars for its price and performance. I paid $20 for it, very easy to plug-in and it works very well. USB-3 disks transfer much faster than USB-2, a sign that the adapter really works at USB-3 speed. Very satisfied.

Important Update. (Good Working Hub)
===UPDATE===I have just discovered that using this hub caused the BLUE PAGE OF DEATH but really just an error. I had a Western Digital 1 Terabyte hard drive plugged in as well as an additional DVD burner player. After removing the extra hard drive from the hub and plugging it into a separate USB port, that fixed the problem. For whatever reason, this hub does not interface with the external hard drive. Probably a power issue. I didn't have that problem with a *Plugable 2.0* brand hub.===ORIGINAL===Why 4-stars? I doubt it's the best for the money but so far it works well. It did not like having a 3-foot Amazon extension cable added. I'm unsure why... maybe too much of a draw on power in some way. Anyway, it is good for the price (7 ports) and performs well.
