Honda S2000 1999-2008 Performance Portfolio: Road Test Book

I'm a sports car enthusiast with a love for Honda products. So when I saw this book on Amazon's list, I had to have it. And I'm fairly happy that I bought this book. Here's what I like about it:-> It's a collection of most of the road tests and articles written about the S2000 by major US and UK magazines. It's nice to have all the articles in one place where you can thumb through them all.-> Nice pictures and statistical content about the S2000. Go geek out with this!-> Covers AP1 and AP2 (1st and second generation models)Here's what I wish was better:-> No long term road tests such as that conducted by Motor Trend-> Some articles by the magazines were not included-> No "backstory" included on the car's origins-> No factory photos or content were part of the packageIf you are crazy for the S2000, then you will buy this book. If you have enough magazine content on the S2000, then you can probably skip this book as it covers no new ground.

This is a great resource for S2000 fans. The book is essentially a collection of all the magazine previews and reviews of the S2000. The book overs the original S2000 (2.0 liters) and the upgraded 2.2 (S2200?) but barely touches on the CR model. The reviews are from car magazine outlets mainly in the United States and Europe though other continents are represented.You can read what the automotive press has written about the car, view the various road tests, and read the numerous comparisons with other cars in the same class (mainly the Boxster, Z3/Z4, and Mercedes SLK).I wished the book had more information on the S2000's development and transformation from concept to production. It would be nice to have original interviews with the designers, concept drawings and focus on evolution of the "S" lineage in Honda.However, this is a great buy and I would highly recommend it to any S2000 fan.The book is roughly 120 pages and all the articles are in full color.

This was a collection of articles mostly and put together in this book! I think it's very cool read! Thanks and what an Amazing Car!!

I didn't really know what to expect purchasing this book, but when I got it, I was pleasantly surprised. It's a collection of S2000 articles over the past 10 years from publishers such as Car & Driver, Motor Trend, Road & Track, Car South Africa, Motor Australia, and more. Whether it's for reference or just pure entertainment, it's a great little book to have if you're an S2000 owner or enthusiast. The only criticism I could possibly give it would be I would have liked to been able to get a hardcover copy and I also think the paper quality could be a little better. These things still wont stop you from enjoying this little gem. I highly recommend this book.

This portfolio of reprints is a giant step from the Brooklands books I uses to order in the 70s. It's in full , HD COLOR! Since when? There does seem to be a disproportionate number of articals from those magazines from parts of the world that persist in driving on the "wrong" side of the road. Therefore the frequent shots of RHD S2000s. To compensate for that minor disorientation the reader is distracted with the humor and charm of the British word smiths. Always a jolly good show. This book came to me via The Garage Book Cafe in Hickory NC. The book was shipped out from The Garage within an hour of my order and arrived in a thick walled envelope, undamaged in four business days. Amazing!

As an owner of an S2000 I try and get my hands on any reading material related to this fabulous car.There's not much out there, however this book makes up for that. Containing write ups from various car magazines this book covers the first year to the last year (1999 to 2008).I prefer hardback books but this paperback is well done and worth a spot on your book shelf.Once you read it you'll find yourself going back and starting all over !

Nice to have such a collection of articles all in color and offering a global perspective on the car whether it was owners based in the US, UK or Australia.You could go to a lot of effort to find all these articles on the internet or otherwise. Good to have them all in one cover.

Having owned 4 S2000's since 2003 I was intrested in what this book had to offer. It is a compilation of reviews and comparisons of this great "pure" sportscar. Many of the articles are from the European car mags so it was refreshing to read articles from a different perspective. Highly recommended!

Great book , on a fabulous car, really covers the model through the years .Future classic mark, cars still cheap , and make a great noise. Well covered in in this book.

This is quite an interesting book but is mainly just a rehash of motoring magazine reports. There is some historical information but not a lot

.... but a useful guide, fine for the price and about all there is on the subject right now. It was a contributing cause to my spending several thousand pounds though!

Das Buch besteht aus einer ganzen Reihe von Zeitungs und Zeitschriften Artikeln und Tests.Da sieht man auch gegen welche Fahrzeuge der S2000 im direkten Vergleich gewonnen hat.Bei deutschen Zeitschriften, die ja sehr oft nicht unvoreingenommen testen st das nochmal so interessant was die vorwiegend englische und amerikanische Presse für Ergebnisse im vergleich zu deutschen Tests erzielt.Für Fans das ultimative Nachschlagewerk mit reichlich Bildern.

Ein klasse Buch für Freunde und Fans des Honda S2000.Es ist kein Buch welches mit eigener Feder geschrieben wurde, sondern ein Sammelsurium von Tests aus Fachzeitschriften. Hier gibt es Einzeltests, Vergleichstests mit/ ohne Fazit.Die Tests reichen von der ersten bis zur letzten Version des S2000.Für mich wäre ein etwas detailliertes Kapitel mit der Technik des S2k noch das Sahnehäubchen, und somit der fünfte Stern, wünschenswert gewesen.
