Q: Are the data ports standards sized keystone jacks?

The opening for all the connections is the shape of a duplex receptacle. I was not very happy with this product and neither was my customer. The screws provided might as well be toothpicks and the brass plate scratches easily.

Q: Is this really solid brass, or just brass plated?

It seems to be brass plated. The brass finish is really well done. Nice solid cover!

Q: Is there a way to remove the hinges for permanantly-connected equipment?

It looks to be pretty integrated into the cover (I can't see underneath because of the installation). We have this installed under a conference table with 4 plugs continuously in use (2 power, 1 phone, 1 HDMI) and the covers do not get in the way. I actually ty-rap to the covers to keep the cords from being pulled unplugged. Hope that helps!
