Good for little girls doing ballet, also good for adult collectors.
I needed a Christmas gift for my niece. I chose this with the eyes of an adult collector of Barbie dolls in that it's modelled after a real woman of achievement. However, my niece loves it and played with it a lot since giving it to her for Christmas. I believe the joints are even more flexible than most Barbie dolls. As an adult collector Barbie doll it has it's own stand for putting on a living room shelf and display case. BTW, if the little girl you would be buying it for is also in to dance/ballet; like my niece, this is even more appropriate a gift. It works for both adult collectors and as a girls' toy.

Bought this for my great niece who is of Mexican/Native American descent (Tohona O'odham). I have always admired Maria Tallchief, so the second I saw that there was a tribute Barbie of her, I immediately purchased it!

Absolutely beautiful in every way! The costume, down to the tights, is just lovely. I expected to like this doll, based on an Oklahoma legend, but she is even more special than I anticipated! Great purchase!

The doll is just as described and I loved the story about ballerina Maria Tallchief .It is not for very young children but instead for young girls 9 to 15 years who love ballet to keep as a souvenir or keepsake of their ballet days.
