I haven't been able to watch this yet. But anything Mickey Rooney did has to be great!

Loved the movie. Only thing wrong the DVD was loose in its case A piece of the plastic was broke off.

My brother actually asked for this for Christmas. He has a dvd but wanted the blue ray. He and my niece like to watch together.

I should start off by saying that my wife and I both love Christmas time. During the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we love nothing more then to stop, sit down and enjoy a Christmas movie or classic Christmas TV show. It is an important part of our holiday season every year, so I was excited when I came across this (Mickey Rooney) movie titled “Home for Christmas”. I am a Mickey Rooney fan, particularly the films he made in his later years. His acting in “Bill” and “Bill: On His Own” is the best acting of his long and storied career. When I read all the good reviews about this movie, I rushed to order it. My goodness, what a downer. To say my wife and I were disappointed by this movie would be a huge understatement. This is not the feel good movie I was led to believe it was. It’s a depressing, train wreck of a film, masquerading as a Christmas movie. Anyone who calls this movie “a good holiday movie”, has very low expectations of what a good holiday movie should be. This movie is poorly written, poorly acted and a total waste of time for a legendary actor with the skill of Mickey Rooney. This movie was so bad that while watching it, I actually began to research Mickey Rooney’s career on my IPad. I came across something very sad about Mickey Rooney’s life. It seems that in his later years, the actor became the victim of severe elder abuse. My guess is, this movie was made during the time when that was going on. That might explain why he made this movie in the first place. He had fallen on hard times financially and probably needed the money. None of this takes away from the fact of what a wonderful actor Mickey Rooney once was. If you want to see a shining example of that, you should watch his hilarious performance in the film “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World”. If you want to watch a silly, feel good movie, check that movie out. Now, that’s a classic!

Was a great family movie to watch

This movie starring Mickey Rooney is a wonderful movie. The story centers on Rooney, a homeless man, who lives in an old building with other homeless folks. A little girl who wants a grandfather meets him on a park bench and tells her mother about him. He happens to break into her dad's car. He is spotted by the Dad in a department store. They take him home to work off the debt of what he stole. What transpires is a truly wonderful story. It is truly a heartwarming movie.

I love Mickey Rooney

This is a lovely and at times tearful film with Mickey Rooney in the lead- although the little girl is the star for me-and for a change a Yanky film that does not cost the earth and will actually play on our region two. Many of them will not.

A good seasonal film

I purchased this DVD shortly after the death of Mickey Rooney, probably for sentimental reasons. It's okay but lacks the real spirit of Christmas, and isn't one of Mickey's better efforts.
