CSB Baker Illustrated Study Bible, hardcover Paperback – Illustrated, November 6, 2018

It is very easy to read. The notes are very enlightening. The pictures add wonderful understanding to what was being referred to at the time of the scripture. I love studying God's Word and do a lot of research before ordering any type of study material as to whether it will line up with the actual hebrew & greek translations of the scripture and the authenticity of God's original Word. This passed my scrutiny but I am not a scholar. I am only a child of God hungry for His Truth without compromise.Highly recommend!

This was the last new copy I could find anywhere on the internet and even on my preferred used Christian Used Book Stores. A particular bidding site had used copies for nearly as much as I paid for this last new copy. Amazon now shows Out of Print - Unavailable, after my purchase. I hope Baker publishes a second edition because the demand is there. The NLT Illustrated Study Bible has better illustrations (and it was a lot cheaper) but for academic style study notes, the Baker Bible is better. But Disciple Dojo's review pushed me over the edge to making the investment. Probably not a lot of help in making your purchasing decision since the bible is so scarce and used prices are gouging but it is market conditions. UPDATE 5/8/25 Disciple Dojo just posted a video that the Bible is being published again but not available until March 2026. Preorders on Baker Book House Website for 20% discount @ $43.99.

I love the commentary and illustrations in this Bible. The translation is easy to understand which is so important while studying the Bible. I would absolutely recommend.

I have several different translations of bibles, but this one is the most informative one I own. Bible knowledge of what God is telling us is important, especially today. That is why this CSB study bible is a wonderful bible to own and read on a daily basis.

One small "star" stamp on the edges of page block. Besides that it was in new condition. Great product.

I have decided to go through this Bible as my main reader this year. So far, I absolutely love both the translation's readability and accuracy, along with the commentary notes on this Baker's Illustrated Study Bible. The HCSB was my favorite translation before it was discontinued by Holman. Now, the CSB is my main reader. I suffer migraines often, but I find that the size of font in this Bible is quite good. Here are my major likes and dislikes listed below:Pros:- Readable translation, not compromising on accuracy.- Absolutely wonderful notes that help with understanding context and setting.- Line matching for the main body of text.- Single column text with cross-references near the gutter of the page. This allows for easy reading, as the main body of text doesn't sink into the gutter like so many Bibles do. The cross-references are less distracting being off to the side. It's like the ESV Study Bible in this case, except...- Wide outer margin. Yes, this Bible has a wide outer margin for the main body of text (not in the commentary section). There's a whole inch of space between the outermost part of the text and the side of the page, allowing for small notes. I can write with a Micron 01 size pen, and there is no bleed-through to the other side. The formatting of this Bible is a dream for meeting all my needs.Cons:- Low quality cover. It's still okay, but not great. No real leather option makes this thing crease instead of flex. I feel like it will fall apart with regular use. Rebinding will be a must for those who read quite often.- Between the pages of Genesis 7 and 8, there's a weird piece of the binding sticking out into the page, causing the Bible not to lay completely flat. It's not a big deal to me, but it starts to become distracting when reading near there.- Very thick. There is so much content put into this Bible. It's 2 1/4 inches thick! I'm grateful for the content, but this is a bit difficult to hold for long periods of time. Definitely a lap/desk Bible.Overall, I am very happy about this Bible. I recommend it for new readers, as the explanatory notes help a lot, and the translation is one that I find to be easy to read and understand, yet maintains a form of elegance in style. I hope that a high quality leather option will become available, but in the meantime I will stick with this. I've been a big fan of everything Baker for the last ten years or so, and using this study Bible has been a joy.

Easy to find index, good size print,interesting commentary

I have the Kindle version, and it took a minute to learn it, but it's working great on two Kindle Fires. I use it daily.
