The timer is designed such that the wires have to come in from the sides to land on the screw terminals, not the back like any other switch. As such, the wires need to make an IMMEDIATE 90 degree bend right off the screw terminals to clear the sides of your electrical box. If your circuit uses 12 gauge wiring, making this bend is difficult and will leave exposed copper sticking out. If you're mounting this in an old steel 2x4 box like I was, that's just too close to grounding out for my comfort. I suppose you could wrap the entire switch in electrical tape once you get the wires landed, but that will just add to the width, and you shouldn't have to.I could replace the box with a newer plastic version, which offers a bit more internal width, but that's more headache than it's worth for my application. I bought this to get my wife to stop yelling at me for leaving my shop lights on when I leave, but after seeing what I'd have to do to install it, she agreed to just nagging me.

Does what it's suppose to, tho it does make a slight ticking sound (as most do) when it finishes its cycle. I put mine on a home made brass tumbler that runs a 3/4hp electric motor that used to have a push button timer on that finally wore out after 5 years, this dial timer gives me much more control on how long I want a cycle to run depending on load size. Only time will tell on how well it holds up but out of the pkg looks to do the job quite well.

Worked as it should for three years, and that was pretty low usage. It stopped ticking and would never shut off.

Did not like wire connections

I just wish they sold an 8 hour timer. Otherwise, no issues with product or delivery.

Perfect for my above ground pool.
