Best Maglite Yet
By far the best light Maglite ever made, and one of the best flashlights you can buy. EXTREMELY pleased with this purchase. To start with the obvious, it’s bright. Like, ridiculously bright. You will not be disappointed with the light output. I thought my previous 3 cell LED Maglite was impressive but this puts it to shame, and because it’s rechargeable it’s basically always that bright whereas the 3 Cell would be bright for the first minutes of usage and then quickly fade in brightness. It’s smaller than I expected (TWSS!), again particularly compared to a 3 cell. At first this was actually a little disappointing since half the appeal of the Maglites is how substantial they look and feel, but it’s actually way more convenient as there more storage options for it in the car and you can even carry it in a larger coat pocket.Biggest difference and the biggest benefit is the weight. This thing is super light.Pricey, yes, but the best flashlight you’ll own and perhaps the last you’ll ever buy.

Great light, super bright!
I bought this light for my wife so she can have a good light in her van for trips and also for around the house. It's really bright and does charge quickly. The biggest difference from our other Maglites is that this one is a lot slimmer and lighter weight. I wouldn't plan on using this as a club like older models (like my old 4 D-cell version in the center of the photo), but it will certainly blind someone for a minute. This thing lights up the woods in our driveway and back yard remarkably well. This light is on the right of the photo, the rechargeable RL 1019 is on the left. The only thing I would change about this would be to include a second charging cradle. After all, it has a power adapter for both a wall outlet and 12v auto outlet, so having a charging base in the house and car makes sense. I did buy one from another seller (away from Amazon), so now there's one in her van and one in the house.

Failed in less than 2 years
It was great when it worked. I purchased it on Nov 26, 2022 and now it's Jul 9, 2024 and it no longer works. I didn't use it that often so it was mostly just sitting by my front door. I probably was using it about 3 times a month when I would go walking late at night. The other day, I carried it with me as it was going to be a late walk and when it was getting close to dark, I turned it on. The result was that it turned on at full bright and immediately would go to a very low light level. I don't think this was the true low light level. I tried it a few times with the same result. If I double clicked it would just be in a very low light level. If I triple clicked, it would be in strobe but again very low light level. When I got back home, I put it on the charger thinking that the battery may be low. The base charger immediately started blinking red. I left it for a bit thinking that was normal. When I returned an hour later, it was still blinking so I took it off the charger. It was still doing the same when I turned it on, so I decided to check the battery. Checked with the multimeter and it was showing 5.6 volts, so it was only a little low if it's truly 6.4 volts as shown on the battery. I tried a few more times with turning it on and off to see if it would come back to full brightness but it eventually would not turn on at all. I did another battery check, and it was still showing 5.6 volts, so it wasn't draining. Now it's an expensive paper weight. I've gone back to my old triple D-cell Maglite that I've had for the past 20 years and it's still going. Just not so bright but it's bright enough. Much heavier as well. I guess I won't be buying any of the new Maglite's as I can't trust them now. Way too expensive to buy another one just to possible have it fail after a couple years.

THIS is the light you're looking for.
If you don't mind the size and heft of a full-sized aluminum bodied flashlight, this is the one you'll want to carry. Hands down, it's the brightest and best built flashlight I've ever owned (and I've owned a ton of duty lights over the years). Battery life is excellent (well over 4 hours per charge on high), beam pattern is adjustable from mega long-throw spot to wide flood. Built like a tank. Protip: the non X model is identical in every way except for the cosmetic finish (shiny as opposed to matte black of this particular model), but can be found for about $40 - $60 cheaper. I have both, love 'em equally.

What a shame
I have used Maglite products, in varying sizes, for over 25 years and have always found the flashlights to be dependable and sturdy. I purchased the System 1 Rechargeable LED Flashlight, at quite a premium, and it worked fine for about the first year. The illumination was incredible, the weight was impressively lite, and it felt sturdy as a Maglite should. About a year after ownership, and minimal use because it was located in my RV, I started to experience failures to turn on. The unit was fully charged, and would come on after a smack on the palm. The issue was intermittent, so I did not think much of it, but them the light started to turn itself off if it came into contact with anything metal. I contacted Maglite, and after receiving a rather lengthy process of troubleshooting steps, I was told that I could ship the entire unit it back for warranty replacement, at my expense. Upon receipt they would evaluate if the issue was eligible for replacement. After a little over a year of use, and at a price point north of $170.00, I would not think I would have to jump through hoops to "maybe" get a replacement. This experience gives me hesitation in purchasing any future Maglite products.

Maglight
A very well built flashlight and super bright! It is the brightest flashlight I have ever used. Has three light settings. Nearly impossible to use the light on the highest setting for close ups because it is too bright. I highly recommend this Maglight if you want the best. You definitely will NOT be disappointed. John
