Franchi Tomato Costoluto Fiorentino Florence

These seeds are brilliant value for money. You get loads of seeds and all the ones I planted germinated.Waiting to see if they will grow strongly now.

I'm assuming that this recent purchase will be up to Franchi's usual standard, but as I only sowed them 24 hours ago it's a little difficult to know. A lovely large meaty tomato. Good sliced into salads or used in cooking. Grows happily outside in my, sheltered, West Midlands garden until well into a mild October every year.

The germination rate was very poor, also the tomatoes were growing extremaly slowly at home in a propagator before I was able to pant it outside. It is now 3 months from seeding and the plants are 20 cm high.

Excellent tomatoes for sauces, no good as salad tomatoes, needs very hot weather or greenhouse grown
