SilverStone’s Crown CW03 is a full featured HTPC enclosure designed for the most discerning home theater enthusiasts. With the venerable Lascala LC18 model as the starting point, the CW03 improves every aspect of the former case from specification to user impression. LC18’s excellent grade-A 7” Hitachi LCD is retained, but additional engineering breakthroughs enable CW03’s integrated LCD to now support resolutions up to an incredible 1920 x 1200 pixels, a feat never before seen in a screen of its size. This specification allows CW03’s to be used in conjunction with any full HD television on the market. Supplementing the LCD is an advanced touch panel capable of digital pen function (digital pen support in Vista only) or standard mouse movements. In addition to the primary touchscreen control, a multi-functional remote is included to complete an impressive list of media features. To house all the new technology, an intelligent cooling layout is reinforced with thick aluminum frame finished to high-end home theater component standards. The styling of CW03 is a blend of classic lines and high-tech looks, making it the perfect flagship chassis for SilverStone’s Crown series.

Case is top notch quality. Built in monitor needs better documentation.
The quality of the case is first rate. It reminds me of expensive audio gear built by high end companies such as Krell or Mark Levinson. The only reason why I am deducting 1 star is because of the monitor that is included. The documentation for the monitor is very poor at best. The software to run the monitor is outdated and not fully optimized for newer OS's like Windows 7 and definitely not windows 8.After experimenting with the built in monitor, I have found that the built in display can 1080i signal through its VGA output. What I was able to do was output 1080i signal from my video processor into this unit though an HDMI to VGA converter (digital to analog converter. Plugable and Cable Matters both make one sold on Amazon that work well). When you do this the display will mirror what you are watching on your TV and it is pretty cool.I wish the documentation for the monitor would have been better, so I didn't have to waste all this time experimenting around.

Almost perfect...
This case is perfect for my home theater project. I am a bit disappointed with the outdated software from SilverstoneTek but that does not stop me from using this case everyday and emptying it!If SilverstoneTek wants a 5 star review they need to pay more modern software that supports scalability top resolutions above 800x600 for the FrontView application. The screen hada default size of 1920x1440 and the FrontView application forces it to run at 800x600 to fill the screen properly.
