Built Strong and sturdy price is great!
I recently moved to a "fat tire" "E-bike" for fun and for camping. Because of the weight and the large tube frame that houses the battery I was not able to use the standard hanging bike rake for the E-bike and instead was forced into transporting it inside of my RV causing it own sets of issues including just getting it inside without tearing or marking something up. I decided that I needed. to get a "Tray style" bike holder. So I started by looking at what I seen on other vehicles to give me ideas. I notice that the ones I'd seen that were big enough and rated for e-bike fat tire models were pretty costly and it would be almost cheaper to go with a small capacity motorcycle carrier. Then I came across the Overdrive Sport Carrier on Amazon and read the reviews etc. and I knew this one would work for all off my bike transporting needs.I usually only need to transport my wife's and my bike but sometimes we have our upper teenage boys with us and need to bring theirs as well. So here's what I think is another great part about this bike carrier... The outer 2 bike holders are a add on to the 2 bike carrier and only require 2 bolts to be install to make it the 4 place carrier so, I add it on when we need a 4 place carrier and leave it off when we don't. Its raised up enough to keep everything up high, Fully adjustable wheel trays fit any bike and even though its set up to handle fat tires the smaller bike tires fit nicely because of how the wheel holder narrows down on the ends. The bar hold downs work pretty good for me and the locks are better that nothing however, they're not perfect. If you have a tall bike and the other one is short or a step through it is possible to loosen the non-locking clamp and raise it up enough to get the bike out. I'd pay more to see all the clamps have there own lock. If your going just from point A to point B with out leaving the bikes out you really don't really need to use the locks but I'd recommend a good lock and cable for keeping your bike secure anyway. May be the manufacturer could offer locks on all clamps and charge more as a option? The anti rattle pin works well and uses the same lock key as the bar locks. This Rack works nicely behind the motor Home or when needed in the hitch in our vehicle we pull behind it (fitting past the rear mounted spare tire). Folds up nicely when not in use. Price is really y good for this sturdy bike carrier.

Serves my needs very well, heavy duty setup with a low low price! Satisfied with the purchase!
Excellent bike carrier for the money (we bought the 4 bike version). Easy to assemble in 30-45 min.The carrier is heavy and somewhat awkward to operate the release lever when bikes are loaded. Would be nice to have some sort of extension, rope or chain to pull the lever from the back of the rack to make it more of a one person operation as it is easier to control the tilt function from the back. One person can lower the rack with some strength and coordination from between the car and carrier but it is not easy to keep the carrier from slamming down when fully loaded.I give five stars because it serves every purpose I need and more, regardless of weight. It holds the bikes very securely preventing damage to the bikes. I love the space between the carrier and back of thr car as it is sufficient space to work on loading and unloading as well as tilting the rack. Back hatch of VW wagon opens with plenty of space when carrier is tilted. Some reviews say the rack should come with two locking mechanisms that secure the bike frame from moving (the vertical hooks that slide onto the bike frames). However, when installed and used correctly, the top locking frame hook sits directly on top of the non locking hook which prevents both hooks from becoming unsecured. As for the weight, I would prefer a solid, heavy duty built mechanism over something thin and cheaply built, especially at this price point.

Very Solid
We assembled this bike rack in about 2 hours. You will probably do it faster. You will definitely want more than the cheap wrench tools they include in the package. A standard crescent wrench and screw driver at a minimum. The basic configuration is for 2 bikes or 4 bikes. We ordered the extended 4 bike version. Each bike gets two loops - one for the front tire and one for the back. You slide 2 on the inside and 2 on the outside of slide bar. A post goes up between the two bikes and there are two sliding padded loops that go up and down to loop over the horizontal bike tubes. Take a look at my pics.If you only have 3 bikes (as we do) then you only need to install 6 tire loops so that's why ours looks like it's custom made as a 3 bike carrier but it's really the 4 bike version. We can also remove the two bike extension and go down to a two bike carrier. The whole contraption folds up on the back of our car and extends down and away from the car. I see people asking if you can open a trunk with it installed and loaded with bikes and so on. Yes I'm sure you could. But the rack is heavy even when it's empty. Loaded with bikes you would need to be some kind of superman. Realistically, when it's loaded with 3 or 4 bikes you aren't going to get access to the back of your car. Some nice features I really like: A key lock for the pin connecting the rack to the car. I can see somebody driving past and just unclipping a rack and tossing bikes and all into the back of a pickup so who knows... this lock might stop a quick snatch and grab. It won't hold up to a hammer and pry bar.The sliding loops also have a key lock to secure the bikes onto the stand. That will prevent people from easily walking away with your bike but again it's not going to stand up to a determined criminal. I found the padded loop able to slide down far enough to work with a woman's style step-through bike. The rack works fine with our slightly fatter eBike tires. Our eBikes bikes each weigh 45lbs but even so 4 of them still feel solid and well supported on the rack. There aren't many negatives other than the obvious problems associated with hauling around more than 200lbs of bikes and metal sticking way out from the back of your car. I would say the worst feature is that it's going to be very difficult to remove this rack from the car. The bolt is solidly screwed into the receiver. Removing that bolt is going to be tough because it's the no-slip silicon type. I can see they want to stop rattles and secure the stand to the car. It's just a shame that it's going to be so hard to put it on and take it off. I can already see wear and a bit of rounding on the nut from just tightening it up once. How is it going to look after I've put it on and off 20 times? One "gotcha" that's specific to my car - I have a feature on my Hyundai Sante Fe. If I loiter around the rear of the car the hatch will beep then open. With my bikes loaded, the hatch would bang into them. That's a feature I can disable and I'll have to remember to do that. There may be better racks out there once you hit the $500+ range but in the sub $300 range for a heavy duty rack that's able to hold heavier bikes, this is the winner.
