SOLOVAIR Men's 11 Eye Derby Boot Made in England

I bought these boots and overall I do like them. I bought them in a half size down from what I wear in Vans and they fit perfect (just FYI). This is my first pair of Solovair and I've previously purchased multiple pairs of Docs, for whatever that's worth.These are extremely shiny. The pic shown seems like it's for something else completely. I really like the leather in the pic listed here. First attached pic is what was on the amazon page when I purchased (and today), second pic is what I received.3 stars because they're actually great boots, I'm just not a fan of the shiny look and I don't know how often I'll actually be wearing these.If the shiny thing is going to matter to you, check the Solovair website, They seem to represent the actual shine more accurately than this pic.EDIT: I'd recommend not buying from Solovair Direct (this seller). They have not responded to my emails and according to Solovair, they're unaffiliated, so I have had zero luck with any kind of support. This company doesn't respond to emails and Solovair is washing their hands of them.EDIT 2: I'm dropping this review to 1 star from 3. After a year, they broke in all around my foot except in the part where the tongue meets the rest of the boot. It feels like there is a metal rod strapped to the top of my foot. $200 for these boots that came in the wrong finish and hurt to wear.

I wore original docs in the late 80s to mid 90s when they were still hand made in the UK. These are equal or better to those. I have been wearing these daily for a year and they are holding up great. I can foresee these lasting years. Solovair is my absolute favorite. I have nothing negative to say. I will buy more without hesitation.

The North American distributor for Solovair sells "unique versions" for a higher price without disclosing that they do not have the same stitching. Why?A. Solovair doesn't respect its North American distributor enough to supply them with the same product it gives it's UK customers.B. Solovair doesn't respect its North American customers enough to supply them with the same quality product it gives its UK customers.C. BothRegardless of the answer, I don't see a way to feel good about buying or owning this product

Nice looking boots with quality leather but after walking in them for five minutes, I noticed that the tongue on the left boot is crooked. It keeps shifting over to the left and gets bunched up over there. The tongue on the right boot is just fine and stays in place. Irritating and a little uncomfortable.Update: After two months of wearing them to the office, the white stitching has started coming undone. Crooked tongue has also gotten worse.
