Beautiful Sizzle
According to the manufacturer, this model is an exact copy of the original Severinsen. This is an amazing trumpet. It has a bright, but very rich sound. After buying this, I compared it to a Bach 180 37 and a Schilke B5. The Getzen has much better valves than the others, although the Eterna costs about a grand less - they are simply quieter and smoother. The tone of the Getzen is very unique and beautiful. Compared to those 2 models, it is bolder and brighter but it never gets harsh and stays interesting. After playing the Getzen for a month, the also excellent other horns mentioned above sounded a little boring. The slides are very fast and the build quality in general is great. I am very happy with this instrument.

The Getzen 900S Eterna Bb Trumpet is one of the best horns I have ever played!
I ordered the Getzen 900S Eterna Bb Trumpet from Amazon and it arrived precisely on time. I have been a fan of Getzen ever since I played on the 700 Eterna series, so I new when it came time to upgrade that the 900S would be the Trumpet for me. The sound out of this horn is amazing. The Getzen valves are among the best in the industry and overall look of the horn is spectacular. I've been playing Trumpet for over 12 years now and can say with confidence that this is one of the best horns that I have ever played!

Beautiful Trumpet
Gave this a Christmas gift to my husband who had a Doc Severinsen in high school. He loves it! One of the valves was sticking a little bit but he pulled the valve out, cleaned off the oil, put new oil and it works perfectly. It sounds beautiful.

It is a good trumpet. I find no real problems with it
I play trumpet. It is a good trumpet. I find no real problems with it. However, the spit valves are like buttons. If the spit valves break, I do not know how to fix the valves.

50th Birthday!
I bought my Getzen Eterna 900S "Doc Severinsen" model in 1970. The same horn Getzen produces today. This high quality trumpet has served my needs for 50 years. It's still beautiful and it remains in excellent condition. 1/2 century later, it plays as well today as the day it was born. Getzen nickle-plated valves are incredible. Fast, smooth, and effortless. When a Bach Stradivarius player picks up a Getzen and feels the valve action for the first time, their jaws drop to the floor. There's no comparison. The fast, short, effortless stroke on Getzen nickle plated valves is incredible. The horn projects a bright sound that can slice through a 100 piece orchestra in a nanosecond. Or, tone it down and produce rich full sounds in the low register with ease. Purchasing my Getzen Eterna 900S was the right decision 50 years ago, and still is today. In celebration of her birthday, I bought her a new ProPac trumpet case, a new practice mute, and a bottle of Crown Royal!Take care of your new trumpet, keep it clean, treat it with love, and it will last a lifetime.

This is an Iconic Trumpet!
I own the original 1970's version of this trumpet. It is a landmark instrument developed in the late 60's in partnership with the great trumpeter, Doc Severinsen. (Watch Doc blow the original horn on Youtube.) This new version is built to the same specifications as the original, and I'm sure that Getzen has included some newer technology and features in the over-all build. Let me assure anyone who is not in the know, this Eterna 900S is a world-class trumpet that will provide a lifetime of amazing performance. Most players will find that this is all the trumpet they will ever need. A very free-blowing horn and easy to play.A versatile trumpet with amazing laser-like projection, it will blend-in nicely with a band or section, and it will scream and sizzle if jazz and lead playing is your gig. And Getzen valves are recognized as the best in the business, with a fast action and short throw. If you are considering purchasing this trumpet for a high school or college level trumpet player, this horn will allow them to go wherever their talent will take them. And Getzen is a 2 generation family business that provides excellent customer service.

Getzen has a LONG established name in the music industry and has partnered with some of the best known talent for co-branding opportunities of many of their products. Doc Severinsen to name but one. I owned a Getzen trumpet for many years. The tone is very crisp, clear and resilient throughout the full harmonic range. This is a SUPERB product backed by one of the oldest and most respected manufacturers in the music industry. You can't go wrong with a Getzen- at any price!
