Cool mount! But also make sure your phone is wireless compatible.
To be honest, I’m not a tech person, so I didn’t realize that smart phones are not automatically compatible with wireless charging… (Unrelated side note- if you have a Samsung Galaxy J7 X, it’s not wireless charging compatible unless you get a special gadget for that.)With that in mind, I didn’t get to try out the wireless charging capabilities, but I think it’s still a great mount for my phone. There’s even enough room on the bottom, as you’ll see in the picture with the pink phone, for my own charger to fit, so I can still charge it while it’s mounted. There is a bit of assembly required as you’ll probably see from some of the other reviewers’ pictures, but even I, a tech challenged person, could do it. There’s no instructions in/on the box, but the pictures on the product page are super helpful in putting it together. I mean, it is pretty simple, but I was somehow doing it wrong before I took a look at the instructions lol.I would recommend keeping the screw a bit loose after you put it all together so that after it’s mounted in your car you can find the right angle for the mount to sit before tightening it into place. The connector isn’t super strong so there aren’t too many options when dealing with the weight of the phone and the mount, but it does help keep it place and it sits at the perfect angle for me to easily touch and look at while driving. It’ll make my next road trip much, much easier and safer. What I really think makes this thing cool is the wings on the side, which open and close to get a good grip on your phone, as you’ll see my video. That's a lot of fun, and I feel like I’m a tech wizard. Side note, you do have to have it plugged in, there’s no battery in the device from what I could tell. It has a normal USB hook up that I was able to plug in right along side my normal phone charger in the car.I drove quite a bit with it, over twisty highways and the bumpy gravel roads of my ranch, but it held true. It kept the phone right where I placed it, without slipping from the grips. Very nice. The only complaint I have is the lack of colors available, but the entire thing is black so it doesn’t really stand out too much in any case.

Doesn't work for Galaxy S9
UPDATE: Works just fine on my Pixel 3, but the title is inaccurate now for Galaxy S9/S9+! Beware! I'll be reporting to Amazon to have them change it.I was super excited to try this out. The first thing that happened that went wrong:I already had a USB-C to USB-C cable in my car for my 12v charger. Most modern phones are going to be USB-C already. The description says to make sure it's at least 1.5 amps. My charger is 3 amps. On top of that, it's an Anker charger so it's an excellent quality cable and charger. As soon as I plugged in the phone cradle, it didn't open or anything. I tried using the cable it came with, and THEN it worked. That's crazy!! You need to fix this hardware issue. I want to my 3 amps with my USB-C cable.Secondly, when I shut off my car, the cradle didn't open.Third, When I got it to work, the charging kept starting and then pausing. I don't know why. Maybe the position if the S9's battery??P.S. There are many red flags on this product's reviews on Fakespot.com I think they're deleting bad reviews. It says around 50 reviews were deleted! Overall previous score was an F, now it's a C

Wireless Charger AND Car Mount in One.
I already had a car mount and a wireless charger so the only thing I was missing was a wireless car mount charger! The car mount I had before was magnetic but it did not securely hold on to my phone with the case on so this is much more convenient. It’s electronically tightens its grip on my phone when I put it on and it loosens once I reach for it with the touch sensor. The car charger I used before did not reach the car mount so whenever I needed to use the gps while my phone was dying it was always a problem. Luckily, this eliminates the issue altogether and I can look at the map while also charging my phone.

Not truly wireless
I don’t know if mine is defective or not. But I have a 3.0 QI charging port and it won’t hold a charge, it is constantly plugged in to charge my phone while driving. So...not wireless. The arms do lock it into place securely, but if the charging portion does ever stop working completely, it will be useless as the arms automatically open back up once unplugged and won’t move back in to hold the phone in place. I have a Toyota Sienna minivan and I have vents with different thickness of slats. I have to keep it on my left side vent because it’s thicker, my vent to the right is too thin and won’t hold the clamp securely. I might as well just return it and get a normal vent holder and plug in my lightening cable directly.

Could have been great.
I had given this a 4 star rating and lowered it to 2. I'll explain why. So I noticed sometimes it would stop charging. It didn't happen to often but it happened and when it did, I had to unplug the USB and plug it back in for it to start charging again. Another thing I noticed is, it would say "fast charging", but then after a few minutes it would go back to just normal charging. I have a note 9 and it supports fast charging and I also made sure fast charging in options is enabled. One thing positive I can say about this charger is that it held my phone pretty tight and I'm able to rotate it to any angle and would still stay in place. Maybe I got a defective one I don't know, but for now I'm gonna be returning it. Unfortunately it didn't have the most important thing I was looking for which was a stable fast charging.
