Lots of information
I am married to a Canadian. We plan on moving back to Canada in the next couple years, and I wanted to figure out how much the growing conditions differed from the Northeast US where I obtained my Master Gardener certification. There are a lot of really great charts in this book for showing the different climatic zones, hardiness zones, and other helpful information. It is clearly written, and if you are looking to begin a garden, I highly recommend the book.

Great book, great info
This is a great book, especially for the Canadian gardener and those of us that live in colder climates and therefore have shorter more challenging growing seasons.

Used product?
This was a gift which I sent directly to the person receiving it so I couldn't see the condition of the article. The person who I gave it to loved the book. However, she commented that it looked like a child had scribbled with a black crayon on the cover. When I looked at the original in amazon I don't see any scribbling on the cover so I can only assume that this was a used product. Rather disappointing.

Really good book on how to successfully grow our own vegetables!
Lots of great info on methods to keep your soil healthy over the years. Healthy soil = great harvest. Each vegetables gets 2 pages of information on them(4 pages for tomatoes). We are told, for each vegetables, when to plant, how to plant, how to feed and how to care for them. And also, which are good options to start inside the house and transplanted outside at the end of may. Really nice. There is also a section on herbs.Yes, the author included kohlrabi in the vegetable section, but that's because they do grow nicely in Canada! And here in Québec, we see them alot now for sale in public markets, as they catch people's eyes. Really great to know we can actually grow them easily in our own garden! There is also information on how to maximize your garden space, like growing cucumbers on stakes while putting salads under them. Or growing bush beans under tomatoes plant, etc. I only wish the section on controlling insects organically would have been bigger. All in all, this book is an awesome resource for us Canadian home garderners.

Great for beginners
It's great for certain graphs and tables for planning when to sow and transplant and which vegetables can be sown a second time but otherwise a lot of the informationin this book can be found online. I existed more. It's a good book to get started with It's just I was expecting a lot more than what I got.

Nice to have a focused, Canadian guide
Canada is a big country with very many different climatic regions, from severe cold to tropical paradise. The Guide To Canadian Vegetable Gardening is a very handy book written specifically for Canadians and answering many questions that some gardeners in this country may not be able to find without some digging. The book is easy to read, covers many of the plants you might want to try and offers many tips that will help gardeners get the most out of their plot of land, whether it's in Fort McMurray or Windsor.Only thing that would be better than the Guide To Canadian Vegetable Gardening would be one focused specifically on southern Ontario, but that would be a bit too much to ask!

Fantastic
Got this for a gift for Father's Day for my day who just grows a tiny garden and a little greenhouse and he absolutely loved this. He isn't the best with technology and he said this had great tips and was easier then trying to google.
