Great scooter.... NOT. Updated review
Update 6/16/2019FreegoUSA had promised me a new FS10D for free to compensate me for the poor customer service experience I suffered (see below). Well finally my scooter arrived free of charge as promised! However, it was far from new. In the box was an FS10D covered in mud, scarred on the right side from being crashed, both brake levers scarred to the metal, the rear brake caliber was rubbing so badly for so long that the rotor had worn a groove into the side of the caliber, the one/two motor drive switch did not function, two motor was the only mode it would engage in, the throttle housing was split in half, the rear fender was cracked at all three mounting locations and was rubbing on the rear tire so badly that the rear tire is worn to out-of-round. To top it all off my brand new free scooter showed 1100 miles on the odometer. After a couple of hundred dollars worth of repairs done by me the scooter now runs. Thanks FreegoUSA for the “free” scooter. My review has been lowered to 1 star due to exceeding poor supply chain service. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU AVOID FREEGOUSA. Spend your money elsewhere. These are expensive and if your experience is like mine you will NOT get your moneys worth!Update 2/18/2019After seeing my review FreegoUSA reached out to me to explain both units I received were actually the correct model but the on-scooter labels and markings were incorrect. The Chinese manufacturers attempted to save money by using old labels and stickers. I have agreed to test one more unit labeled correctly this time. I will update this again when I’ve received the new unit. For now I am going to up my rating of the scooter to 4 stars because right or wrong the original scooters were the best quality of all that I’ve tested to date.————Original Review:A review of the product I received will follow but first.... The first unit I received was the wrong model. I ordered the FS10S but received the older ES-10S. The ES-10S has a 500W motor, and LED sidelights with a lower top speed and lesser capacity battery. Amazon quickly sent out a replacement (shipped by truck because of its hefty weight). Again to my dismay I received another ES-10S in a FS10S labeled box. Boo! Both units are now sitting in my living room waiting for the return truck. The review of the ES-10S: Excellent scooter! I am a 180lb male and it pulled me around perfectly. The rear disc brakes are excellent. All the controls work perfectly. The scooter is heavy at 40+ lbs. The headlight is bright and very effective. The suspension along with the big tires suck up bumps and cracks giving a super smooth ride. All in all if I had paid for the ES-10S it would have gotten 5 stars and I would still be riding it.If you buy this beware that you might very well not get the model you paid for. I cannot recommend this company and would go so far as to recommend that you stay away and buy a different product. After 2 incorrect shipments it is clear FreegoUSA has big problems with inventory control. Not the place to spend $800.

Review of FreegoUSA FS 10S - Great Electric Scooter!!!
Review of FreegoUSA FS 10S(Disclaimer: I have only had the scooter for 1 week and have ridden about 50 miles. A longer period of usage would be helpful. I intend to post an update in the future.Note: I have no relationship with FreegoUSA or any incentive to be positive in my comments – I just really love this scooter!)Summary:GET ONE OF THESE!!This is an awesome machine that is also tons of fun!! Modern battery technology and thoughtful design make this a great electric scooter! It has great features, is very competitive (in terms of design, features, and price), and is well built. I love speed, and at the end of the day, this scooter is just plain fast! It has great breaks, front and back lights (and a break light), good electronic display. Customer support seems great too (thanks Ty!!). Well-built and fun – get one!!Background Research:After having so much fun riding electric scooters and deciding I wanted one, I spent about 2 months researching them (oddly, this was fun for me). The range you can find in the market is very broad – light to heavy, slow to fast, for urban environment or for cruising and fun. I realized that speed was a priority for me, and overall durability and company support, since you can’t just get help at the local bike shop. I quickly realized that speed was relatively rare, expensive, and heavy – most scooters don’t have “enough” voltage to deliver speed and a long cruising range (and getting stuck with no power is worse than being “average” speed). So this focuses my interest on a few specific brands – I decided that FreegoUSA delivered the best value (with speed) and function (safety features, display, etc). So far, I remain confident that was a good assessment. The FS 10S competitors (generally to be thought of as an electric scooter that goes above 20 MPH) are moderately or significantly more expensive! I purchased mine for $899.If you want to get a sense of how much speed or cruising range an electric scooter will provide get to know battery ratings. You generally want 48V (or more) batteries for fast scooters and up to 36V batteries for light scooters. Also realize that most scooters are speed limited in order to preserve battery for cruising range (and for safety). This FreegoUSA FS 10S is 48V and delivers 800W base (to the rear tire, preferred for maneuverability and handling vs the front tire).FreegoUSA is the U.S. distributor (and supporter) of products produced specifically for the U.S. (not sure if all or only some scooters are customized for the U.S. market) by FreegoChina which sells products arounds the world (through a network of distributors mostly).Design/Features:This is designed to be fast and capable of varied terrain (as-in bumps – where I am, after winter, there are many potholes and cracks). The big tires are amazing – small to moderate bumps are barely noticed and moderate to large bumps are felt but capably and safely handled. The overall build is sturdy. No concerns splashing through puddles (I would get out of the rain to be safe but well protected battery area and electronics). It is fairly heavy at about 40 lbs – I don’t mind loading it in the car or an occasional set of stairs but I wouldn’t want my wife to have to carry it. Based on the weight, this is not a “last mile scooter”, I wouldn’t want to maneuver it through train or subway stations or buses. Like any scooter made to handle bumps or trails it is a bit bigger than any Byrd or Lyft scooters – mostly from the 10” tires. It also has good clearance (better than the smaller scooters). It only has a rear break, but it works great!! The scooter can skid out if you need to stop fast, so I suggest you practice hard stops a few times to get the feel of it.I’ll list most of the product features here. Overall, I like some features, I love some features, but I very much appreciate the breadth of features (leaves one with the “they’ve thought of everything” feeling). I also like the focus on safety!• Display is easy to read and has battery level, speed, trip distance (trip odometer), odometer (lifetime distance), time in use, and speed level (kind of like gears, needed for hills, there are 5 levels).• Throttle is pushed down by right thumb and is part of display unit.• Love the full set of lights – front, back, and rear brake light. Front light has vertical adjustment.• Underneath lights are good safety feature at night (and can be turned off, good thing as they are a bit geeky during the day)• Standing platform is wide enough to stand on facing forward (feet side by side). Shoes may overhang the platform but it is stable. Platform is also easily long enough for front/back or angled stance. Good non-slip surface.• Handlebars also fold in for long term storage, shipping, or just to take up a little less room wherever (like a trunk).• Handlebar height has 3 settings.• There is a bell for safety (by the break handle on left).• It folds and unfolds very well (a bit of strength helps). Locks in place effectively when folded.• Kickstand works well and folds out of the way effectively.• Comes with Bluetooth and speakers - plays music while you ride!! How fun!Customer Support:My needs were modest but when I reached out to FreegoUSA because I had a few questions Ty replied to an email with a phone call within an hour. After speaking with him directly and learning about FreegoUSA, I am very confident that Ty will provide any support he can, with urgency. He did mention specific support in the area of replacement batteries and spare parts (and whatever a customer needs).Quibbles:• One must let go of the throttle to adjust the speed level (not good when going uphill and you lose speed while you are looking for more torque)• I would like a front brake. (Presumably one way Freego kept costs down to be able to offer at such a good price… but front brake is for safety)• Key or alarm system would be welcome (although again would require raising the price…)The Ride:I wanted to end on a high note… This section is redundant but the big tires and serious power make for a seriously fun and capable ride!! Speed and acceleration are there if you want them. It handles varied terrain or bumps no problem! Breaks are very effective. It maneuvers well at slow speeds due to the low center of gravity (like other scooters). Handles hills great. If you enjoy riding electric scooters you’ll LOVE riding this one!p.s. - If you want even more:FreegoUSA sells an FS 10D (currently for $300 more) which adds a front brake and front motor – faster and better braking!! I hope to ride it sometime!
