Cocoon by Sealy Cocoon Mattress, Twin, White

Used to have a pillow top mattress that wore out and caused serious back pain for my husband and I. We did a lot of research on all of the “mattress in a box” brands and settled on the Sealy Cocoon Chill. I’m so glad we did. It is one of the comfiest mattresses I’ve ever laid on. You can feel the chill feature when you move around. There is also very little to no motion transfer so if I’m rolling around on the bed my husband doesn’t even notice when he’s sleeping. It took just a few minutes for it to be fully unpackaged and raise up. We had no odd spots at all, the mattress raised up perfectly. There was the odor that everyone warns about but we left the sheets off, windows open and fan on for a day and it went away...unless you put your nose right to the mattress but a week later and that was no longer the case. We’ve been sleeping on it for a year and a half now and it’s still holding up great!

Having two other Cocoon mattresses, I ordered one here when I needed another one. For whatever reason, the mattress I received did not feel as good as the ones I ordered directly from the manufacturer. The first red flag was that the box arrived looking very beat-up, like it has been around for a while. The top of the box was ripped open and there was no pamphlet inside. When I slept on the mattress, it was way too firm. Although I ordered the firm mattress, I have two others, so I know what it is supposed to feel like. It should have a 2-inch top layer of memory foam. In this case, that layer felt like it was compressed and did not respond like typical memory foam. I slept on it for a couple of weeks hoping it would feel better, but it never did. Ultimately, I had to request a refund. Amazon did honor the warranty and refunded my money, but I could not return the mattress. So, I was stuck with a mattress I could not sleep on comfortably. I'm trying to see if I can donate it to charity so I can get a new mattress.

When our mattress first arrived the box was destroyed from water damage. The UPS Driver wanted us to approve it before she removed it from the truck . The mattress itself was wrapped tightly in plastic and undamaged . We have been sleeping on the bed for three weeks now and find it to be extremely comfortable. My husband who weighs 185 pounds is saying he loves it and has been sleeping much better. I was skeptical as I had to have four layers of memory foam on top of our old memory foam mattress which was hard as a rock. After a few nights of using my memory foam pads on top I finally removed them and cannot believe how soft and comfortable this mattresses is. I'm a side sleeper and my husband sleeps on his back. I can tell there is a sense of coolness that we didn't have before. I tend to get hot at night due to my medical issues which is uncomfortable and I actually have been feeling a little cold. My husband is complaining of me robbing the blankets during the night when usually I'm throwing them off onto the floor. The reason I am leaving that feedback is some people say they cannot tell the difference with the cooling cover. I know was much more pricy with it but I am temperature sensitive and can definitely tell the difference even with a thin mattress protector over it . We live in Florida.

Firstly the name of the mattress is misleading. The soft version is nowhere near what I would consider soft. It’s more of a medium firm. It’s somewhat comfortable, but if your looking for a soft supportive mattress, this isn’t it. Secondly, the chill feature is entirely worthless. Yes the mattress is cool to the touch, but when you lay on it for any extended period of time, it feels just like any other memory foam bed. Had the bed for a few months and I’m already looking to replace it.

I've struggled with sleeping well over the last couple of years and woke often with considerable back pain. I've had this mattress now for about 4 weeks. The first week was rough and I was honestly looking for what my return options might be. Spoke with a few others that had transitioned from traditional coil spring mattresses to foam mattresses like this one, and they expressed that it took them a few weeks to adjust. It tok my body about 2 weeks to settle into the foam mattress but now I truly love it. I wake without back pain.I agree with what others have stated in that this 'soft' mattress is quite supportive. I can't imagine what the firm version would feel like.Happy customer here!

This is a very firm mattress. I’m 185 lbs and it supports me quite well. I picked the Chill version because some mattresses cause me to sweat in my sleep.After a month on this mattress, I can say that it does stay cool. We thought about switching to the softer version, but instead we bought a thicker mattress cover to give us a bit more cushion.The box and packaging was well done. Follow the instructions and your have this mattress ready to go quickly. We slept on it within 8 hours of delivery. There was no unpleasant smells or problems.Chatting to Sealy support online was quick and easy as well. Go for the regular mattress instead of the firm if you want more give to your sleeping position. Other than that, I highly recommend this mattress.

I am currently recommending this mattress to everyone I know. I’m a plush mattress sleeper as is my boyfriend and we both swear by this mattress. Many memory foam mattresses can’t replicate the plushness of traditional mattresses, but this one somehow does just that and has all the benefits of a foam mattress. It has all the right sink and bounce we need to get a good nights rest. We now have trouble sleeping anywhere else.
