Seth Speaks Paperback – January 1, 1981

A must read.

I first read this book in my early 30s (having avoided reading it despite having it recommended to me, throughout my 20's) and found much of it too abstract. It is heavy going at times. There is not a single note of frivolity or sentimentality. I have since re-read it twenty years later and find it profoundly interesting. The mode of delivery of the information (and the ringing endorsements of every New Age superstar, ever) may lead one to expect a discussion with the fairies in the garden (not that there is anything wrong with that). Instead, one finds a document which is rigorous, thorough, stylish and not without arch humour. The breadth of the view it undertakes to address is remarkable. And despite the odd mode of delivery, I now find it very readable.I have now read Susan Watkins' two-volume memoir of Jane and Robert Butt's 'classes' which reveal more of the playfulness, delight and boldness which surrounded the Seth sessions. These and the more personal books (e.g. The Early Sessions and The Way Toward Health -- about learning to channel and Robert's terminal illness and death) -- appeal to me more because I appreciate the emotional complexity of them. As a treatise/introduction to a new and very influential type of wisdom, though, this one is hard to beat.

I had read this book or some of the book several years ago. At that time, I really could not understand it and did not retain much of it. This time around, I am so fascinated with it that I daydream about the information when I am not reading. It is only recently that my husband became open minded enough to even listen. One day recently, I read a couple of sentences to him and he, too, was mesmerized. Now, I am reading the entire book to him. We read a little then talk about it. As he put it yesterday evening, it all seems so true and it explains everything without being the least bit new-agey sappy.It is probably only for those who have had a NDE or OBE because, once you can see beyond the physical/corporeal world, you can see that 'Seth Speaks' is just plain talk about reality. If one has never had a peek outside the physical world, it is very difficult to understand or was for me before I 'knew.'

I would recommend this to anyone on their spiritual quest. Having grown up in the fundamentalist religious faith, "Seth Speaks" took me out of the box so to speak and broadened my concept of God and the Universe. It is so comforting to know that we are all part of the whole and all the books I have read so far have led to this one. We do have an afterlife and how exciting to have proof it exists. This book should give everyone who reads it a calm about the passing from physical life experience to non-physical.

I agree with most reviews of this book, this book isn’t for those who prefer one dimensional existence, and have closed their minds off to any possibility that the reality they have known isn’t the entire picture. I recommend those who read this book and allow yourself to interpret with an open mind and take it in without expecting a particular outcome. It will be for you what is meant to and if you get nothing out of you may have been expecting too much

I love this Book - can't put it down. The book is an easy reader, however, very deep in thought. It opens your mind to a new way to look at the world, and not as we typically know it. I would recommend this book to everyone who has a desire to know what is "On the Other Side" of this planet and the entire universe. This is a must read for anyone interested in the truth and in the paranormal. Pick it up and you won't be able to put it down.

This was a gift I gave to a friend that needed to understand what this reality is about and to understand what the spiritual world is like. A long time fan of the Seth Material, the overal collection of the writer that's a ghost channeled through Jane Robets my copy is worn and well used, with my own anotations in the margins from my own experiences that reflect the words of Seth. As he tells you, somethings will seem unfamiliar and questionable. So put them on your mental bookshelf and eventually you will find the validity of what he speaks.
