Didn't we almost have it all?
More pros than cons:Pros:1- The price. $45 blows away anything like it.2- Bells and whistles. The sensor functions all work well. Just as well as my Casio Pathfinder, if not better. I love that they are all simple to calibrate. It has all of the other functions you'd expect from a modern sport watch.3- Display. The characters on the negative display are sharp and easy to see, compared to the Suunto Core. Backlight is awesome. You can also get the standard display if you're worried you wont be able to read it. But I have terrible eyesight, and it's fine for me.4- Durability and form. It's water resistant enough to shower with every day since I bought it a month ago. The band is tough. It feels stiffer and maybe a little more durable than the resin band on a G-Shock, and it has a barbed tip to prevent it from slipping out of the strap holder, which is very nice. Buttons are easy to press, but not so easy that I find myself bumping them accidentally.5- It just looks BA. The reflective colored bezel makes it pop (you can get all black if you want) and the reverse lcd screen still gives it a subdued tacti-cool look.Cons:1- It not a good time keeper. I have bought two of these because I thought the first one was a lemon, just because of this. Both of them lost at least a second a day, which is way beyond standard deviation, especially for a quartz digital. COME ON!! If they put a better quartz crystal in it and charged me $50 or even $55 for it, then this would be a 5 star watch. SO CLOSE!! So close, yet, so far. May not be a big deal to you, but I'm the kind of guy who likes it when all his alarms go off at the same time. That's just me. (I'm keeping it anyway)2- The pins that hold the 22mm band in place are set too close to the watch housing. So close that you will never get an aftermarket watch strap on this thing. Believe me, I tried using a high end NATO with a thicker strap (not as thick as a Zulu) and I also tried an el cheapo NATO (4 for $10 type) with a very thin strap and the pins are set too close to fit anything but the original watch band, which was a nightmare to get back on. So don't try it. This makes me wonder how sturdy the strap will be in the long run, because there is only room for a small sliver of band on the inside of the pin. But the way the strap is molded moves tension away from that area, so, it might not be a big deal. If that changes, I'll update.3- Only 2 alarms. I need at least 4. There is a loud hourly chime which you can turn on or off, but still.4- No storm alarm. There is a graph that will visually indicate when barometric pressure is dropping, but no alarm. Not a biggie, but I did think that was a cool feature of the Suunto Core. All in all, I would buy this watch. Over and over again. Amazing value. Amazing features. Few minor issues (every watch has them). So affordable that you can buy one for yourself, and buy one for your best bud so you u can geek out together.

Inexpensive full-featured activity watch
I was looking for an inexpensive ABC (alti / barometer / compass) watch for general use but also for the frequent boy scouts trips I participate in with my son. I looked around at a range of watches, but I ultimately decided to give this one a try. As you can tell from my review, I'm pleasantly surprised, but not holding my breath on how long this will last. My main factors: price, features, looks - generally in that order. Some other brands compared: Suunto, Casio, Timex, Fitbit, and Garmin. I also compared to a whole bunch of never-heard-of-before brands that were super cheap.Pros:-I really like the negative display - yes, if there isn't too much ambient light, you will need to use the backlight (which in no way can be used as a flashlight in a pinch)-it shows the time on pretty much all the screens no matter what mode you're in-the rubberized band seems pretty durable and the movable loop to keep the long end of the strap in place miraculously seems to always stay in the right place-you can turn the beeping off - useful for silent time keeping!-pretty rugged/waterproof - I shower with it almost daily with no problems! I fell into the river while whitewater rafting and with no problems - e.g., no fogging. I have taken this with me on a number of hiking/camping trips without causing any major blemishes on the bezel or strap, etc. Granted, it was relatively well protected since it was under long sleeves, but in my day to day, I haven't managed to cause major cosmetic damage so far.-comes in a box easily opened (also makes it easy to wrap for gifting)Cons:-this was my main hesitation and only real complaint: it uses an acrylic crystal so it definitely picks up really thin scratches. Hard to see unless you look carefully or if it catches the light - see picture-the compass is reasonably accurate for general directions, but I wouldn't use it to for hardcore orienteering. It allows you to set your declination as well as generally calibrate it manually once in a while. But sometimes it "sticks" and won't change as you rotate.-Alti/Baro features are nice to have, but I don't really use it. The baro provides weather projection which seemed to be pretty accurate.-the instructions are generally accurate but they are really small.-the sensor button (upper left) is somewhat exposed (unlike the other three) so it is much easier to inadvertently push that button while the other three require more intent. I think it's only problematic if you're in the water a lot since the watch, while waterproof, might take on some water if you're pushing the buttons in water.-couldn't find any Germans eitherOther consideration:-It also has a thermometer, but as many others have pointed out, you have to remove it from your wrist for a while in order to get the actual ambient temperature vs. your wrist's.-No GPS or Bluetooth connection to phone - neither pro/con since I wasn't looking for this feature originally. However, I have recently realized that the bluetooth connection would be helpful since then I could use it to buzz me when I receive a phone call. Killer feature for people like me who don't like to leave the ringer on during work (obnoxious) and I can't ever seem to feel it vibrate when in my pocket. The fitbit charge has this feature but then you have to recharge these kinds of watches regularly.Bottom line - would I buy it again? Most likely. It would make a very nice inexpensive gift for your casually outdoorsy child/friend.

The media could not be loaded. I like the setting it has and I like the look of it.
