Perfect to light up a dark corner over my sectional
The lamp is tall enough with a nice arc to have over the corner of my sectional and light it up, without feeling like a spotlight. The base is really heavy, so I don’t worry about it tipping. After reading several reviews I followed the assembly instructions carefully - especially with the weights in the base. Nice quality and provides great light to what was a dark corner and I love the gold finish.

Beautiful and practical lamp; we really like it, but had to send the first one back
We've been looking for a lamp to provide light to a gaming and jigsaw-puzzling table about 45 inches in diameter. This lamp does the job wonderfully. We are using a 200+ watt equivalent LED bulb to provide plenty of illumination with minimal actual wattage. We find the lamp to be very attractive and functional. Ours is sitting on a tile-over-concrete floor that is of course very solid. I would imagine that if you have a wood floor over joists that you might get some jiggling because of the design. Only you can say if that would bother you. Of note: we received a defective unit at first and had to send it back. The lamp is assembled in sections, and one section had stripped threads that wouldn't work. Amazon replaced it with no hassles.

I LOVE LAMP!! PERFECT, take that west elm!
The media could not be loaded. I LOVE THIS LAMP! So I found an over arching lamp at west elm that I wanted... and it was way out of my price range for $350+. So I decided to DIY it. I purchased this base here and purchased a champagne glass geo (replacement) lamp shade. Tada! Amazing and perfect. The base is super solid and is concrete underneath the brass so it can hold some seriously heavy shades. I’m loving it! You can’t beat this for the price, the style and the vibe. The original shade was lovely too, however, I was going for the full champagne glass feel so I replaced it.

Lamp broke a month after we assembled it; customer service promised replacement then went dark
We were very excited about this lamp after a somewhat tricky installation, but it broke about a month later when my husband was trying to adjust the shade. I reached out to Archiology customer service who was initial super helpful and responsive. After trying, unsuccessfully, to help me trouble shoot the problem by sending a replacement part, they said that they would replace the full lamp as it shouldn't have broken only a month into ownership. Instead of sending me the new lamp up front, however, they asked me to go through Amazon to request a new lamp first, and to let them know if that didn't work. The best Amazon could offer us was the ability to return the lamp we had for a refund, which, between our no longer having the packaging and Amazon saying they would charge us a restocking fee, was far from ideal. When I reached back out to Archiology, they suggested we reorder the lamp then use that packaging to make this return. When I pointed out that we would still be charged a restocking fee and requested that the company send us the lamp directly and/or issue us a refund--things that I'd been given the impression were not out of the question, I never got a response. I reached out one or two times to the same thread; still no response. I reached out via the chat function on their website. Still no response. Months have gone by. I'm not sure if the sudden silence of their customer service department is COVID-related or what, but either way it's been extremely frustrating.UPDATE: I reached out one last time a couple weeks ago (a couple months after writing this) and heard from someone saying that the customer service representative I'd been talking to no longer worked there. Not sure why this would have prevented anyone else from responding for so long, but long story short they said they would grant an exception to their normal policy (which, according to this person, would not have allowed for a replacement of something that broke in this way) and would send us a new lamp for free. They did and it came about a week later! So it took a long annoying time, but we're grateful that in the end they made things right and not mad about having a new unbroken version of the lamp, since we did like it (and will be more careful this time when adjusting it).

Good light
I like the lamp, it was easy to assemble. I’d say this is a dupe for some of the high end brands for less than half the price.

Beautiful lamp, easy assembly!
I love this lamp, it adds an industrial type style to my living area, and the little button connected to the cord is my favorite. It makes turning on the lamp a breeze. Maybe it was just me, but I had just a little bit of difficulty putting this together properly. I eventually figured it out though. The key is to pull the cord from the bottom of the lamp as far out as possible, so that theres no slack in the neck of the lamp when your screwing together the pieces. Its a pretty simple step, but I certainly missed it on my first attempt assembling the lamp.

This lamp is awesome!
This lamp is great! I was a little suspicious that it wouldn’t be good quality because of the price. Most of the other arc lamps I found were $200+. For $95 - this is a steal. It looks great. Assembly was easy. I did it on my own in about 10 minutes. The connectors needed are attached to the lamp where they end up going, so you don’t have to guess which nut or screw goes where. The base is very heavy and the lamp is very sturdy. I love it!

Good on a discount quality and finish issues
I got it on a cyber Monday deal. Overall ok for the price paid. Not the best quality. Target has similar and sturdier options. Tough assembly to get all the pieces tight. Also some quality issues on the finish. Some sections look darker than other and would have given it an overall vintage vibe but happens in only one segment. Given arc and adjustment angles of the reflector/shade it’s not the best choice for a sofa setting. Lots of glare even with a dimmable smart soft white bulb. Probably best for dedicated reading task light or for a big room and wide sectional. If you have a low and apartment size sofa might not be the most comfortable lighting for lounging. I wouldn’t buy again at full price and thinking of returning.
