Q: used on a few projects, however today the bristles started coming out en mass, I did not soak in water.

Same here, concept is great, manufacture let them down. I used mine twice and the bristles left the handle like they were on a fire drill.

Q: Is this brush good to use for acrylic, water-based paint?

I have used the angled brush and its excellent! I painted my kitchen cabinets with it + a roller and had no brush marks at all. I have this one but have not used it yet. If it's anything like the angled brush it should be fantastic.

Yes, I used in corners and bear baseboards, carefully. Works well

Q: Does the triangle zebra brush allow you to cut in cleaner without tape on the sides of doors? Also, does it leave behind straight brush marks?

Yes, it allows for beautiful clean lines without using tape. I've been very happy with this brush - no brush strokes, either! I won't paint without this.
