Revive an Old Dell Monitor
Perfect with my old Dell monitor, goes on super easy, plug jack into my old Samsung laptop, voila Great Stereo Sound. Won't work with ROKU because newer ROKU only takes sound through HDMI, but no big, the ability to upgrade the monitor and older laptop with superior sound for such a cheap price is fantastic.Comes with power supply so it can be used with other devices if you can't power it with your monitor bur for my old Dell monitor it took that monitor from barely useful to cooking with gas.

Why are you guys still complaining
I don't ever write reviews but this one was too good to pass.If you're lazy, just get a supported Dell monitor these fit onto. If you already have one, more power to you.If you don't have a supported monitor but willing to put some work, the rewards are more than worth it.HOOKING TO THE MONITOR:I don't have the dell monitors that these fit into so I almost didn't buy. I saw the top review that had someone use the VESA mount points to hook it onto their non-dell monitor so it completely changed my mind. Thank you stranger. I also use a mounting arm so the original stand was just sitting in my closet eating dust. After inspecting its parts, I had an idea. If I could somehow connect the part that locks to the monitor and the speaker, it should work. There had to be a 1 cm gap between the two as well. I just had to find something thin yet strong enough to hold the two together. After searching around the house, I found the perfect thing, the drip edges from my shed roof. I had some odd pieces laying around from a recent remodel. Cut two pieces, folded them, drilled a couple holes and used stapler from the stapler gun to fasten everything together and voila, my Acer monitor has a soundbar now. I can also take it out with just a push.ELECTRICALS:It requires a 12V power supply, and no it's not in the box. For people complaining about it not being provided, I'm sure all of us have atleast a few just laying around the house, from old routers, rokus, humidifiers, etc. If you don't, just go to your local thrift store and they will have one for like 69ยข. Just make sure you confirm the polarity of the wires on DC side. Normally, ground is plain black wire and +12V has white dashed lines on top, but better to verify with a multimeter. The power supply wire on speaker has 2 wires inside: red and black. I actually took the speaker apart to make sure red was +12V and black was ground, and yes they were. So I just had to find an adapter and hook it to my existing monitor arm setup. I took it apart, took the prongs out and soldered wires in place so I could fit it between a gap under my desk. I then spliced that AC side wire to the cable going to one of my monitors so when I switch on the monitor, the speaker also turns on (I have a separate physical master switch that makes sure the monitors are completely off the circuit and not just on standby mode). I already had a AUX cable also going through my monitor arm so I just had to get a coupler to hook the speaker. As a added bonus, the mounting bracket also doubled as a wire management thing, and you can just hook another wire in parallel from here if you add another speaker to a second monitor, no need for another adapter.SUMMARY:$8.80 and a couple hours of work later, my monitor has a soundbar with dedicated satisfying volume controller, two headphone plugs, and a cool light. Since it has dedicated power supplied, it gets plenty loud. These were premium speakers when they were released so I really have no issues with the sound quality. Yes, there could be a bluetooth, or a microphone input but it is what it is. As added bonus, my desk has more free space and no messy wires, and no stupid RGB lights like the other soundbars on Amazon.Already bought two more to just keep them for future use.

An excellent little speaker bar!
I can't comment much on the "sound quality", as I am using it for a retro-computing setup, and a cheap speaker would work well enough there, but I wanted something better for my hobby. I have my original CoCo 3 (from when I was a kid) hooked up via a VGA adapter to this old Dell monitor I had lying around, but I needed some sound output. This sound bar was the lowest cost method I could find (short of building my own speaker and LM386 amplifier). It works perfectly with my monitor, attached quickly and easily, and looks great, too. Plus, in the future if I wanted to use it with a PC, well, now I have some sound output. Overall, a great looking and low cost means for my use!

Same problems as others
Got this speaker bar because my previous one died on me and I wanted speakers I could clip onto my monitor. On arrival sound nob didn't work, but figured it was fine because I mostly used my keyboard to change sound levels anyways. But it's been only two months and this one has died as well; plugged in, light's on, sound works through other speakers, but no output from this one. Don't get these speakers; save up your money and put it towards something of quality.

Sound is clear but mono and no bass. Will fit any AUX jack. Does not have to be Dell.
Even though this is a mono speaker and no bass at all, it is excellent value and the playback is crystal clear. Do not expect an AC adapter because you're not likely to get one. I don't have a Dell computer but I just hooked it up to the sound card on my PC through the AUX jack. The only real disappointment was the lack of a power brick and even though that's missing I would still recommend this as a budget speaker.Just manage your expectations and don't expect stereo or surround sound.

No power adapter, but used adapter made it work.
Works just fine

its a speaker, it does speaker things.
this is a speaker, it does speaker things. it plays sound and has a lot of room for loud audio, and the audio quality is actually really good. it sips power straight from the dc out port on your dell monitor, it clips onto the bottom of your dell monitor and the second cable goes to your computer, and it makes for an almost clean setup. the cleanliness depends on your cable management skills. mounting and unmounting is very easy.the speaker does have a nice little knob on the right side for you to dial it in, with no annoying volume onscreen display. just set your max volume in windows, and dial the knob. it even has a satisfying click for the mute position. and on the left side you have 2 3.5mm audio jacks to connect 2 headphone sets. no microphones tho, headphones only.theres a white light indicator on the center of the speaker unit shining through the grill to let you know the speaker is on and not muted, which if you like that is pretty cool. turning off your monitor or your computer will turn off the speaker, and will also turn the light off. pretty useful to see if your speaker should be playing sound.
