Q: Is the controller wireless? I can get power to the fan itself but running a cable down or around the chimney isn't really an option

The controller is wired only. Power goes thru the controller to the fan. Should probably use conduit on the exterior of the chimney to protect the wire. On mine, I added a lightening arrestor due to previous damage from static discharges.

Q: Does it remove the heat from the fire? Will the fire still heat a room or is all the heat bring pull up to the fan?

Hello, Our electric chimney extractor has a 6-speed regulator, just put it at the first or second speed to favor the aspiration of smoke in a natural way, but not of heat. Basically, at the first two speeds, we do not in any way alter the normal functioning of a fireplace, which normally disperses a very small part of heat in the smoke that rises in the flue. The Gemi extractor goes to suck the smoke that would otherwise go into the house and therefore, certainly, would not produce any source of heat for the internal environments. It is clear that if the chimney extractor were put at the sixth speed (usually used for the exchange of air in rooms or to favor the ignition of the fire or suck the ash) with its 3800m³ / h, it would be so powerful that it can also suck in the heat, because it would increase the burning speed of the wood and consequently reduce the heat in part. From scientific studies carried out, a fireplace without an aspirator disperses more heat than a fireplace with an aspirator, since thanks to the mechanical control the Gemi extractor is able to control the dispersion of heat. Hello, the colors do not matter... The green yellow cable is that of grounding, the other two cables are phase and neutral. The installation is very simple, find the explanation in the description and images. Thank you.

Q: What's the link to the high heat cable that goes down the chimney

Hi, behind the speed controller you have the connection for the current on one side and the motor cables on the other side. You must not reverse the connection otherwise the fuse will blow. The earth cable has a standard color, yellow-green and must be connected to the central part of the regulator (you will find it indicated). The other two cables have different colors, even if they are reversed nothing happens.
