It's very easy to clean but I wouldn't recommend drying it with much heat in case the backing degrades.Speaking of the backing, it produces very little meaningful grip and I find the mat sliding around a bit on my desk if I make any particularly vigorous mouse movements. I play a lot of FPS games so this is fairly often, and even though it doesn't move very far, the games I play are reliant on mouse accuracy, so every nudge counts—it gets worse with higher sensitivity. I can stick it down to the desk but the whole point of having a backing grip I'd presume is to remove the need for sticking it down.The material seems great for optical mice and I've had no trouble with that aspect. If you're having trouble with that while using this mat, then I highly recommend you get a better mouse—most don't advertise their device's IPS rating, which matters a lot more than DPI. DPI is usually listed because big numbers big wow, but that has nothing to do with how capably your mouse can handle very fast movements in very little time. Better IPS, better response and less cursor going nuts and less need for excessively high sensitivity.

works great - to an oldie like me its just a big mouse mate, or a bit off a wetsuit, but to my boy its the best thing since sliced bread - he loves being able to use a mouse with his ps4 now and the size is such that he has a lot of control. great product

I wanted a mat that I could put my laptop on (as it gets warm and don't want it hurting my table). But I also wanted room for a mouse alongside. This item is perfect for the job and it rolls up so I can store it with my laptop when not being used.Highly recommend.
