Pricey But...
You can find many of these nozzles that are smaller to fit a pressure washer setup but this is the only garden hose size attachment that I could find. So I guess that's why it cost $80? Of course, it will depend on your water pressure as to how effective this will be. For me, it worked well and saved me from having to call a plumber. Also. depending on your access point and the strength of your hose(I had to duct tape a few spots on my hose because it just wanted to bend in half). Anway I hit 3 tough root blockages that took some patience working through them. Ultimately I was able to get about 80 ft down my line. BUT here is the key if you are dealing with roots. This will break up the blockage and get you through the roots BUT it is not cutting the roots SO you will want to follow up with some Foaming Root Killer to kill the roots. Then periodically retreat the line with root killer.

This worked great for my yard drains. PLEASE SPECIFY! 3/4" for normal yard hoses.
I don't know my water pressure but I doubt it's 70 PSI. I use it to clear yard drains connected to and between dry wells. It traverses easy 60' and doesn't hang up. It does it's job clearing forward and reverse. I use it for maintaining the drain pipes which get filled with mud, but did have a service do hi pressure draining a few years earlier. So I'd say these are perfect for maintaining a system. I'm very very happy with this product and would recommend it for anything less than severe blockages..

Sturdy but not good
I bought a nozzle like this made of plastic and it works great, but I figured it would break/crack so having one made of stainless would be better. Sadly, it doesn't work 1/2 as well as the plastic, why? The holes in it are so big, the garden hose can't be kept stiff enough to push it down the line, same hose, same spigot, just this stainless one has way too big of holes to work well. I went back to using the plastic one. I am guessing if I had 100 psi and 15 gpm flow, this would work well, but in the real world, most every house and business will only have between 40-80 psi and around 7 gpm.

Very Effective to Clean Underground Drains!
A bit pricey, maybe, but very well made and WAY cheaper than hiring someone to clean drains, and the stainless steel should last forever. I cleaned all my drains out in a couple of hours. The water jets almost suck the hose in, and the front tip jet loosens dirt as it moves forward, then the rear jets wash it back out. I am very glad that I got 30 years of silt and crud out of my drains before the El Nino rains hit us

Got the job done
I had a clogged storm drain at my new house and was on the fence about calling a plumber to jet it or to try this first. I had already tried sending the hose down the line but it got hung up and I figured I'd still need this to clean the drains annually anyway so went ahead and tried it first. Glad I did because it cleaned the drain super easy. I was able to push most of the 50ft hose down corrogated drain pipe. When I fed it upstream a thick slurry came out so it cleared a lot of silt.It might not work for sticks or thick leaves but it worked for my silty drain lines.

Great tool!
Outstanding product. It moved rocks and shingle debris from my gutter drains. It pulls the hose in as advertised. My pressure was lower than the minimum and it still worked. I was able to avoid digging up my drain lines. Everyone with drain lines needs one of these

As an alternative to devices designed to be used with a high pressure washer, I thought this performed very well for my use. The first thing to understand is that you're tied to the incoming water pressure delivered to your house garden hose. Mine is around 60-70 PSI which I believe is considered normal residential pressure. This item definitely sprays a lot of water through its several small holes/jets and should be good for clearing various types of debris from pipes or other enclosed areas. In my case, I used it in a 4" pipe outlet connected to my foundation drain tile. It had become clogged with clay soil and was not draining properly. Now mostly because it was clay, the pressure alone was not enough to clear the pipe. I had to manually poke at the clay lumps with a long stick of 1/2" PVC to loosen them, then send in the drain blaster nozzle and move it back and forth several times to slowly work out the clumps of clay. So by repeating this process several times I was ultimately successful. I don't have access to a high pressure washer and didn't want to invest in one although for the price of this item, probably could have bought a cheap one for not much more. The high pressure washer and associated nozzle combination would probably have been a quicker/better solution, but it was easier to just buy this and screw it onto the end of my garden hose. In the end it worked well enough for me. Others situations and results will vary but this is a quality product that performed well and as expected. I read that someone had wrapped electrical tape around the nozzle and hose to keep it from catching on things and I did this since it seemed a very good idea. I think it probably helped a few times. Last thought... it wasn't powerful enough to 'pull itself along' inside the pipe. You have to feed it by pushing the hose just like you'd expect, but... it's not hard to push the hose into the pipe. I suspect the water jets help quite a bit between the backward pressure and constant water lubrication of the pipe.
