These stick insanely well and definitely provide excellent traction
I bought these for my high heeled wedding shoes because they are completely slick bottomed with no tread. These stuck on extremely well. I tried to pull them off for a second,(because of people trying to say these don't stick), but they stuck hard and didn't budge for at all, not even for a second. I honestly don't even see them coming off after walking through rain puddles. These are on there so well, I just can't imagine they'll move even with water. So, needless to say, make sure you think about where you want to place them exactly on the bottom of your shoes before sticking, because they will be super difficult to take off once these are on. I highly recommend these, and think they are pretty discreet. For the most part, we're all walking or standing on our feet, so no one will notice. If the bottom on your shoes are exposed, I don't think it's hideous to look at or anything. They're not an eyesore. These aren't black, they're a grey, but they don't stick out like a sore thumb. The color blends quite decently because the grey is a neutral that can go with a lot of colors, light or dark. The traction is very good. My slick bottomed shoes were no longer sliding around. My feet stayed exactly where I planted them and didn't move. I was pretty surprised considering how difficult it was to walk in my bridal shoes before I put these on there. I will definitely repurchase this product for as long as it exists.

Give your $6 to charity before wasting on this garbage
Total waste of time and money. I cleaned the soles of two pairs of Kenneth Cole work shoes that have slightly worn faux wood soles. I used Goo Gine to ensure the surface was free of oils, and allowed the soles to dry overnight. The next day, I stuck these pads to the soles and rugged hard to ensure a solid seal, again leaving the shoes for several days to allow the glue to fully cure. Today, I optimistically took one of the pairs to work in the City, which included typical NYC walking, a few subway rides, and a typical day at the office. When I got home tonight, one was already gone and the other pad was barely hanging on.Terrible. There goes $6.

Works well for me.
I bought these for some holiday boots I received. The boot's sole had some slick spots that made me avoid wearing them. Then I recalled my sister giving me non-skid pads 7 years ago that continues to show and prove on the dress shoes they remain on. I ordered these and have had not one issue with them so far. I do not wear these boots daily, but the days I choose to, I can walk and show them off with confidence and security. I am satisfied and will buy again when needed.

That makes it adhere best.
These were used for my wife's shoes and boots that have a leather sole. Especially around carpet and tile, the traction with leather soles is very limited even after prolonged wear. These pads bring an assurance in her step. In concrete, there is little noticeable difference. Make sure you wash with hand soap and warm water the soles of your shoes and dry them well with paper towels before you apply these. That makes it adhere best.

Only noticeable on really slippery shoes like those wood-soled cowboy boots
A few problems with this item. When they do stick, for the most part they work just ok....they add only a tad bit of traction. Only noticeable on really slippery shoes like those wood-soled cowboy boots, but on other shoes with a little bit of grip, it doesn't add to the gripping power. As for the sticking part, only 2 of the four actually gripped onto my shoes all the way. I followed the instructions and stuck them on two pairs of shoes, but after about a day, one of the pairs had the pads half on. I had to reinforce with shoe glue, which defeats the purpose of them being stick-on. If you need these for some slippery dress shoes for a night out, then I suggest them, but otherwise, try to find another long-term solution for slippery shoes.

Worked great on leather sole
I used these on a new pair of boots with a leather sole. They were way too slippery to wear in winter so I purchased these to help add traction. Very simple to use and they added enough friction to take away the slipping. I made sure to place them where the bottom of my foot touched the ground so a little lower than the actual tip of boot. So far no issues with them peeling off and they were worn in snow/ice.

Helpful, but need more adhesion
Seller shipped quickly, and product arrived in great time. I alcohol-cleaned the bottom of the slippers that I wanted to apply these to, and the skid pads seemed to,adhere OK. However, they started to peel away at the front edge after about 2 days of use. I removed them, and spread some clear "Shoe Goo" over the sticky sides of the pads, and re-applied them to the bottom of the slippers. I then covered the soles with a piece of plastic wrap (as a protector), then laid the slippers on the floor and weighted them down with some heavy books for 2 days. A little bit of the plastic wrap stuck to the soles where the shoe-goo "leaked" out the sides, but the pads now seem to be much more firmly attached. Have been walking on the slippers for over a week now with no problem....

Great for both worn out shoes or new shoes!
I used these on my favorite brand of flat sandals that are durable but the bottom of the soles were getting worn out and had less traction. I got more wear out of the shoes because these pads on the bottom of the soles kept me from slipping on smooth floors. They're great for new high heel shoes too, which can be slippery.
